Just got waitlisted. Numbers in profile - a bit confused and disappointed.

YP?

Did you write a 'Why UVa' essay?

Did not write why UVA - so probably a combination of that and YP. Torn on remaining on WL...thoughts?

I had 3.7/176 so I was a bit confused too, based on how I was doing at other schools. I didn't write a Why UVA? but worked it into my PS.

Congrats, twinkle! I hope they throw lots of $$ at you too. You deserve a win!

In, but not before a weird yield-protecty phone call. :? No mention of $ and I refuse to pay sticker anywhere so guess we'll see...he was really nice though so can't complain! Just an awkward 5 minutes haha

UVA seems to be doing a shit ton of YPing this year, based on the WL. Enjoy your full-ride at Columbia :D

I know they will be giving out scholarships over the next few weeks (maybe first week of April? I can't remember) so I bet you will get some then. Congratulations on the acceptance!

+1 I was waitlisted last week with similar numbers to you anela00. I've seen a few others with very similar numbers in the same situation. Seems like UVA expects we'll be taking better offers. Fortunately for you, there are better offers on the table. Unfortunately for me, there are not...

You are in at Columbia and few others.. I would move on.. unless you are dying to be in Virginia for 3 years.

It seems like they've simply stopped mentioning $ in the acceptance calls. According to a recent email they sent, they'll make another round of offers the second week of April.

Very frustrating, but I like UVA enough to wait it out.

For anyone that got accepted but didn't hear about money in the phone call, do not fret. I was offered $15k/yr and didn't find out about it until I got the acceptance letter about a week later.

Also, if on your status checker your deposit is due in early April (rather than late April), it is a good bet that you got some kind of aid, because merit recipients have a different deadline in relation to non-recipients.

I'm guessing that this is no longer true, since Faulk said scholarship info wouldn't come out until after the first of April.

Hope some $$$ is headed your way.

What are people's thoughts on contacting fin aid with other offers/info prior to this round going out in early April or is best to just wait and see what they offer?

They are one and the same. A high stat candidate who would not bother to write down a few things that they love about UVa is not likely going to accept even if offered.

I believe the acceptance date on atleast some of the first round of scholarships is April 4thish. I'd imagine after they see who's in and out, they will situate what to do with the next round.

Ty, same to you.

During my acceptance call, Cordell explicitly said I should submit competing offers.

I was waitlisted back in January and wrote a LOCI then. Has enough time passed to write another one about my love of uva or would that seem too stalkerish/annoying? I have some connections with the school which I have already used, so I feel like they have a had a lot of me shoved in their face. Too much?

edit: I am a resident, so my numbers are mediocre given that (otherwise, would have been an auto-ding).

I have an early date but no money, so this isn't necessarily true.

Same here, but I was told to check back in April.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
