Should we expect acceptance letters to come out pretty regularly from now on? Or should we expect another long period of silence before the next round of notifications?

Someone who went complete on 1/8 got a decision - no idea if that was just when he checked it and noticed though since he submitted in early December I thinkspyke123 wrote:

NCE in CA. No hammy or butler so I'm very jealous of you guys who get to rock Columbia for free. Still very excited though

CLS's notification system is by far the most anxiety-inducing. Consistent updates every day about NCE gives me a slight heart attack every day, instead of the once-a-week email/phone call that other schools do.
And congrats to all the new admits!!! Very, very, very jealous.

I also have another crazy theory. Maybe there was actually a batch mailed out before the others and it got delayed in the mail to the point where the batch mailed after that was delivered first.
I only bring this up because it's exactly what happened with the first batch of GULC acceptances. Even though the letters were postmarked 10/15, they had a "presorted" label on them with a 10/19 date, and we ended up receiving them after the people who had letters with later postdates.
I know the chances of this happening must be extremely low, but I just don't see how certain people here--myself excluded--aren't getting in during the first wave.

Lavitz, I've actually been sneaking into your post office at night and moving your acceptance letters to different parts of the building so they don't find it for a few days, just to screw with you.

THIS IS A LIE. I know because I too have been in your post office, dyeing the NCE to a strange color to make it look like a VCE and then hiding in a pile of coupon weeklies. Eventually you'll get it, but you'll be so flustered and happy by 2-for-1 frozen pizzas that you'll be positively puzzled when you stumble upon the VCE.

Normally I throw out weeklies, but lately I've been going through them just to make sure there's not a letter in there I missed.twinkletoes16 wrote:TripTrip wrote:Lavitz, I've actually been sneaking into your post office at night and moving your acceptance letters to different parts of the building so they don't find it for a few days, just to screw with you.

How much would it suck to accidentally throw out your NCE?

I am forever bitter that I failed to be in the first GULC acceptance wave because of the USPS.Lavitz wrote:I hope so.spyke123 wrote:You are right. I wonder if another batch was mailed out yesterday.twinkletoes16 wrote:spyke123 wrote:congrats!

No NCE here in SoCal. I'm going to hold out hope for one more day. But I have a ominous feeling.

Tried to look through last year's thread but its a total cluster. If you have time you can probably piece it together.spyke123 wrote:hey Thiago, do you remember when the second batch went out last year? a few days/a week later?Tiago Splitter wrote:attaboy chair

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
At the risk of getting my own hopes up again, it looks like there were quite a few letters mailed on 1/25 last year--which was the same day the first VCEs started arriving--and arrived on 1/27.
Since the first NCEs arrived on a Saturday this year, I think this supports my earlier theory that they mailed another batch on Monday because they (probably) didn't come into work on Saturday. And a few of the 1/27 people received Hamiltons, to boot.
Then one person had a letter postmarked 1/26, and the next batch had letters postdated 1/31 or 2/1. So all hope is not lost.
