Waiting is definitely tough (Applied in Sept. and waitlisted 12/1)...especially because I desperately want to attend Fordham. Period. Although I'm probably in the minority, I love the staff's posts/links (I mean... conversations with Presidents and SCOTUS Judges to NYR playoffs (btw...torn being a former Otttawa and NY resident). I would say the posts about cookie butter, delicious macarons and leftover mac n'cheese...just make my mouth water!!
Regardless, I think they really carefully review the applicants and their respective fit in a diverse incoming class.

I definitely enjoy a lot of the links too, I just find myself obsessively stalking the FLS admissions team!! It's nice to have the transparency, though.Happy Endings wrote:Waiting is definitely tough (Applied in Sept. and waitlisted 12/1)...especially because I desperately want to attend Fordham. Period. Just FYI - I was at the LA reception last night and they said that about 380 people had placed deposits, and they were looking to fill about 100 more seats for the Fall. Proably more will be accepted off the waitlist than that as the higher ranked schools pull some of the depositers away from Fordham in May.
Cheers!

Thanks for the update! I wonder how many people are on the WL.SDPalmTree wrote:Just FYI - I was at the LA reception last night and they said that about 380 people had placed deposits, and they were looking to fill about 100 more seats for the Fall. I dun get it why is she dealing with waitlist files when I haven't even heard back at all? Anyone else waiting on a response A/D/WL in general?

It's a bit early. If I recall correctly, they will do interviews in July and then let candidates know in late July/early August.Fujin11 wrote:Anyone who has been accepted apply to or hear back from the stein scholars program?

A lot of qualified people applied very early and were waitlisted for a variety of reasons. I'm not sure when you applied, but it seems reasonable that people who applied in 2011 and were WL'ed early in the year for this or that would get a second look after being ~ 5 months in on their cycle. The admissions committee is still reviewing things for those waiting on ANYTHING, but they also now know that they need some of those numbers on the WL they were holding off on.britts wrote:I was wondering the same thing myself, because I haven't heard a thing in one direction or another...luuma wrote:Lookingforanswers wrote:From Kathryn Espiritu's Twitter Page:

word. as someone who has been on waitlist since dec, i think its awesome that they're tackling us WL kids! and 100 seats sounds incredible, but I'm scared as to how many ppl are on the waitlist right now. Any idea if Fordham has released that info anytime during this admission cycle??
ahhhh i will be checking my email every 5 minutes starting monday morn

I don't know the numbers for Fordham, but a different school with similar application and enrollment volume (but better ranking) has informed me that their waitlist is typically between 200 and 400.rkh235 wrote:word. as someone who has been on waitlist since dec, i think its awesome that they're tackling us WL kids! and 100 seats sounds incredible, but I'm scared as to how many ppl are on the waitlist right now. Do keep in mind that said school would probably take about half as many students off the waitlist in any given year, so, so it's probably safe to infer that Fordham's waitlist would be twice as big

I applied very late and to be honest, wasn't expecting to hear anything until they started looking at the waitlist. and really wasn't expecting that until mid may. I would like to know but certainly I take a back seat to those that applied last year as far as the time it takes to get a decision.JenDarby wrote:A lot of qualified people applied very early and were waitlisted for a variety of reasons. I am in at my number two choice and am simply planning to go there or retake for Fordham next cycle. Either way, Fordham can basically call me anytime between now and August and that will be fine.....
Even if I obsess a little....

I can relate with obsessing and hope you all get in! I was crazy with status checkers. It's understandably easy to discount the fact that many people WL'ed applied very early, especially when everyone is anxious to hear back.

Thanks for the reply, are you involved with the program? I would love an inside scoop on the program or the interview process

Got waitlisted via status checker like 10 minutes ago... this means I have to jump through LOOPS and make it my mission to get off this thing! Anyone have any ideas. I'm a New Yorker. So I can go to their school and hand it my LOCI's in person. I would go in today to hand my letter in, but I live an hour away by commute. Tours, interviewers? Ideas are welcome!!
