Eh. This is kind of misleading as a bunch of Harvard kids are getting a3, doj, and other super preftigious positions.msblaw89 wrote:Cornell also places EXTREMELY well in big law... ever better than Harvard

This partially due to Harvard's large class size, but mostly because Harvard grads have a much better shot at article III clerkships, academia, etc. Take these #s with a grain of salt. Cornell def. has great biglaw placement though.

Yeah what everyone can definitely take away is the reason behind the TLS t13 boner.unitedfrutopia wrote:This partially due to Harvard's large class size, but mostly because Harvard grads have a much better shot at article III clerkships, academia, etc. Take these #s with a grain of salt. I desire movement from a school today, preferably Cornell. Haven't updated my LSN profile in a while.

I couldn't agree more. Do you guys (and girls) think that they are going to make us wait until the 20th.... it's starting to seem that way

If you have the numbers for Cornell you have the numbers for between 45 and 90k from Fordham. If you have good reasons to stay I don't think it's a bad option.unitedfrutopia wrote:Cornell's placement is almost twice as strong as Fordham's. I think you're being a little overly optimistic. I think I have a pretty good shot at Cornell but only got 10k/year at Fordham.top30man wrote:If you have the numbers for Cornell you have the numbers for between 45 and 90k from Fordham. Zelda called admissions and apparently they told her they closed shop on that date so that EA had to come out before thenaddy11 wrote:Is the 20th the hard deadline?gaud wrote:Cornelius wrote:I desire movement from a school today, preferably Cornell.

I can't fight them until I get some other scholly offers. Fordham as been the only one to throw me a bone so far (even if it was a tiny bone). TBH, I did kinda expect at least 20k. Guy with my SAME numbers got that much.msblaw89 wrote:Fight them on that! I got 30k a year from FordhamKillingly wrote:I think you're being a little overly optimistic. This whole EA thing is sort of pointless IMO. There are several t14 schools that have already let in scads of RD people, even early November/late October submits. Cornell will be doing the same thing (admitting several, deferring or rejecting several more), only later than many of these schools (and not much earlier, in all likelihood, than most others).

Yeah, Fordham does seem odd with money. People with my numbers get four different amounts that vary wildly. I don't understand how they make these decisions. However, I'm sure you'll have much better options than Fordham with your numbers!Killingly wrote:I can't fight them until I get some other scholly offers. Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I think Fordham trades on its unique position very well.
It's in NYC and it's the next best thing after NYU and Columbia, but there is such a quality gap between the former two and Fordham (as well as between Fordham and the next NYC school, Yeshiva/Cardozo) that they can pick up a ton of above average people just because they want to be in NYC but maybe can't manage to get into NYU or Columbia, and won't "deign" to go to Cardozo, CUNY or Brooklyn.
I know several people above both 75ths at Fordham who got nothing in terms of merit money. I was significantly above both 75ths and they refused me a fee waiver (elected not to apply).

Fairly certain they don't give fee waivers unless they're need-based. That's how I got one. Also, I agree with your post.addy11 wrote:I think Fordham trades on its unique position very well.
