Gotten to the point where I've forgotten I've applied to LS. Like I was saying in the Mich. thread, I've become surprisingly zen about the radio silence. By the end of the app process I'll be the water, not the rock.

Have we ever determined whether Berkeley does waves or just a single batch when they send admits? Is it already safe to assume that I missed the boat again today?
ETA: Congrats to all the new admits! Don't mean to be a downer after all the good news, just feeling a bit discouraged by Berkeley's continued silence.

11/22, no FR review. Here's what I don't understand. FR is for "competitive" applicants, which means the file was read once and a determination was made about its level of competitiveness. This also means that people that did not get FR also had their files read and were deemed "not FR competitive." So why not just hand out decisions one way or another to those people now?

Yeah, it's confusing, but it seems to be the case that there is some pool of applicants who are just de facto being held--no FR and no decision.tadlbb wrote:11/22, no FR review. As someone who got the FR review e-mail, it seemed to read like we were basically held, but we were due to receive a definitive decision by mid Feb. Depending on your submit date (my case being late Oct), it may just be waiting for the 2nd round of faculy review, and you are de facto being held until then.msblaw89 wrote:Ergo uscerealdan wrote:Yeah, it's confusing, but it seems to be the case that there is some pool of applicants who are just de facto being held--no FR and no decision.tadlbb wrote:11/22, no FR review. Yeah this makes sense, its still frustrating. I submitted 11/1 and haven't heard anything other than the 11/22 UR email.EMZE wrote:As someone who got the FR review e-mail, it seemed to read like we were basically held, but we were due to receive a definitive decision by mid Feb. Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Ok.....what the hell. I get an email from Berkeley admissions, im on my iPad so I think oh YEAH I'm in. Open email. Biggest trolling of my week. Somehow I just got another fee waiver that expires in a few days. The weird thing is its phrased like they have been waiting for my app since I got the fee waiver (I did personally talk to someone when I got the original for need based).
I honestly would be kind of happy of they lost my app and think I havent submitted. Would give me some hope. Will keep you all posted.

It was just an email for everyone that got a fee waiver to receive it again that way they knew that everyone that requested one got one. Pretty cool of them.JDProspect wrote:I know the feeling!!!
