At least I had an update once for mine.absolutazn87 wrote:Don't worry. A file complete/UR date of 1/4 isn't early at all. A bunch of us, myself included, are at File Complete, pending review/decision 9/22.
Edit: I love how, once every 10 pages or so, UVA's thread devolves into "Let's see who has the earliest complete date!" And everyone starts sharing their UR date, because they're so excited there's something worth talking about.

I was at UR 10/4, sent a LOCI by email last week and was admitted about two or three days later.

Seems like a lot of forgotten have strong numbers, too. Maybe they're worried about yield so they're trying to wait out some folks to see if anybody will withdraw after getting accepted elsewhere?slax wrote:I was at UR 10/4, sent a LOCI by email last week and was admitted about two or three days later.

The LOCI was mostly a why UVA. I think it proved to them that I was legitr6_philly wrote:Worked for me (the same way) as well, but not everyone.somewhere wrote:Seems like a lot of forgotten have strong numbers, too. Ughhhh waiting sucks. I'm almost positive it's not YP in my case, though, so I really don't have anything to do but sit tight.

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Any thoughts on the length of a "Why Virginia" essay? After the talk today I'm putting one together. One-page? Just a shade over? More? Less? (Particularly interested in the permissibility of "just a shade over" since I'm sitting at about 1 page and 2 lines and am wondering if they'll be irritated that I didn't keep it to a page.)
Thanks!

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Mine was a bit over 1 page, but I emailed it. So I would think they wouldn't care how many printed pages it'd take up since it's all on one digital screen.sanguar wrote:Any thoughts on the length of a "Why Virginia" essay? Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Would anyone be willing to share their email format for the LOCI? I'm basically debating over where to put the address blocks for the email. Also, isn't the standard rule not to send LOCIs before hearing an initial decision? I'm willing to try anything at this point, though, and it looks like this method has created success for some of us. Tired of being UR 10/08.
Thanks for the help!

Does UVa open attachments? I thought law schools generally did not. Could be totally off base here.
Edit: I see you were accepted, so they must have read it. Thanks for the help.

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
I sent my LOCI in the body of an e-mail. Oops? No address blocks or anything. Format:
Hey y'all,
Applied on W. Still interested.
I've been up to some stuff. Still think X program is a great fit.
Cool news that makes my matriculation more likely.
<3ed my last visit. Wanna visit again.
Sent in an updated transcript to LSAC on Y. Had Z(ero) effect on my cumulative GPA.
Thx,
dbrddr
