Yeah, as someone who has been waiting since October I have to feel that (if these rumors were true) they would have sent me my ding/waitlist by now.

They are promising initial decisions by April 15. They'll almost certainly have withdraws before then. Maybe they are keeping a mini waitlist of people who are pending that they want to offer admission to as spots open up before April 15 and then break into the waitlist after that.
By doing this they'll probably have a higher yield out of this pool then they would from the real waitlist.
Totally speculation.

If you're above 25th but below median on both GPA and LSAT but still UR, you're pretty much screwed at this point, right?

Hi all, long time lurker. I was waitlisted 3/18. I'm planning to visit and then submit a LOCI shortly after visiting. Planning to visit 4/16 or 4/17, and have the LOCI in before their 1st seat deposit deadline. Thoughts on whether or not this Is too long to wait to send a LOCI since it will be about a month after I was waitlisted?

My guess is that you should send it sooner rather than later. If you wait until mid-April, you run the risk of the admissions folks thinking you only want to go there because you got rejected from another school that you were waiting on.

Couldn't you also send in two LOCI's, one now and one with the visit?

That would be ideal

UVA lost because of the way you have been handling admissions, Virginia Law.

Honest question: what is the difference between waiting this long to make a decision (complete early Dec) vs WL from the start?

The difference is that they can still waitlist you.

If I submitted an application in early January and am still UR, should I send a LOCI? Denial still fighting hard against all evidence that Virginia is out of money.

Can someone confirm the deposit deadline for UVA Law admits? April 30 / May 1 ? I am a waitlister and trying to gauge when movement would start as I assume it will be after the deposit deadline #1. I think the letter said they expect to be letting people in throughout "May, June and July." Cordel is such a poet.

First seat deposit is Tuesday, April 21. Second seat deposit is Monday, June 1.

Has anyone had a UR date change that signified something (f/e impending ding)? I ask because my status checker actually did something after having been UR since I applied in the fall.

Not that I've seen posted, also non on LSN from what I can tell.
ETA: Status Date change to today, wasn't like that this morning. So I guess I'll be another data point soonish

Not really enough data to know what date changes mean since that info has only been available since the update to all SCs a few weeks ago.

Waitlisted on Friday, 3/27. Disappointing because I was really looking at UVA depending on scholarship. 4.01/173
