I'm a current 1L at HLS (I know HorseThief IRL, so maybe that gives me credibility despite the 0 posts) and TLS helped me out a ton last year, figured it was time to give back.

For anyone freaking out about your application, a word of hope... I took the June LSAT, applied in November, got insta-rejected from YLS, heard nothing from H/S for a looonnngg time. I decided to retake the Feb LSAT on a whim, barely studied for that one, but went in way calmer than in June and scored higher. I was still slightly below both medians, but got a JS1 sometime in March and a JS2 around 1.5 weeks later.

Obviously, a single anecdote does not a pattern make, so make of my experience what you will. It's extremely difficult (and I failed at it miserably), but try and stay calm through the application season, and enjoy this year... hang out with your friends and family, read for pleasure, watch stupid TV shows, go rock-climbing... whatever you do for fun. You will be surprised at how quickly life changes once September hits.

Anyone have any questions on the interview, being an international student at HLS, joint degree programs w/e, feel free to holler. I'll also be in the Admitted Students forum for anyone who's already gotten in (congrats again!!).
Mind sharing your numbers?
GPA between 3.78-3.83, June LSAT b/w 168-170, Feb LSAT b/w 170-173... I know I shouldn't be worried about outing myself seeing as how I'm already here, but ahh well...

Anyone know when the admissions office is open this week? Should we not be expecting any new JS1s before the new year?

I've been thinking about it. I'm actually surprised no one else has done it yet... Probably what has stopped me is I have been on vacation but maybe I'll do it one of these next few nights. That way people will have a new place to talk about pizza boxes and scholarships.

Is it correct to assume that the staff are still reviewing files over the break?

Then again, they did send a 12/24 JS1 wave despite the office's being closed. (Though I guess that could have been automated.)

I kind of hope for their sake they actually take some time off.

So far, there have been 10 waves of JS1s offered (based on information when people post on TLS that they receive a JS1):

Monday, October 27th: 10 reported
Friday, October 31st: 4 reported
Monday, November 3rd: 7 reported
Monday, November 10th: 11 reported
Friday, November 14th: 3 reported
Monday, November 24th: 14 reported
Thursday, December 4th: 4 reported
Friday, December 12th: 4 reported
Monday, December 15th: 5 reported
Wednesday, December 24th: 12 reported

In total, there have been 74 reported JS1s on TLS.

From these, the most recent complete date to receive a JS1 is around December 8th-12th.

IIRC, HorseThief's interview count had 35-37 spots open for the second week of January, presumably all for the 12/24 wave of JS1s. On TLS we had 12 reported, which is around ~33%. That's a pretty big contingent of TLSers... much more than I was expecting at least.

Granted, a lot of the other waves have a much smaller group of TLSers reporting, but still pretty interesting.

I think I missed this - were the people who got JS1s on dec 24th already able to schedule? So this (1/12) would iniscate an impending wave?

I don't think everyone was able to schedule last time. But that's a lot of slots so my fingers are crossed for a new wave of invites :)

At first, not everyone could schedule during the last wave. But they put up more slots for the 1/5 week, and those have been open for the last week (~8 slots or so). The 1/12 slots are all new.

Also, 37 might be a little low for the 1/5 wave. IIRC, the day I signed up for had 12-15 slots alone.
I feel very confident saying that my numbers are not correct. They were at some point, but I likely missed a few slots. However, the uneven numbers don't scare me. Each interview is allocated 20min, and the slots don't always start at the top of the hour. They're probably working around other meetings and stuff.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
