UR 2: 2/18
UR 1: 12/19
Complete: 11/1
Hope for a decision soon! Probably a rejection or WL, but a decision nonetheless will be appreciated!

Checking in! Applied 2/10 PT. File under review as of 2/17. I'm guessing the 10 days to hear back is 10 business days, right? If not, is it a bad sign if you haven't received a decision by the 9th day? xD

No, just 10 calendar days! A lot of people hear back on weekends if that's when the 10th day falls.Sakari wrote:Checking in! Applied 2/10 PT. File under review as of 2/17. I was waitlisted, PT after 10 full days. LSAT 168, GPA 3.55, URM
I'm guessing my chances of coming off are slim - any thoughts?

I was priority reserved as a URM and it honestly feels like I'm pretty much waitlisted/not getting in. They may bifurcate the waitlist to give one the illusion of "priority" but I really feel like we're in a very similar boat.FizzyBeepBop24 wrote:I was waitlisted, PT after 10 full days. Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Does anyone have an idea on when Duke will begin reviewing the Priority Reserve List/Wait List?
I know in the most recent email they noted you should indicated your intent to stay on the WL by February 23rd -- via an online survey link. I am just trying to figure out when I should get any of my supplemental materials to admissions (obviously the sooner the better), and also get a sense of how long the waiting game may last..

Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
I, in no way, want to sound like a jerk to everyone on priority reserve or the waitlist out of PT, but all of these questions about "has anyone on the WL heard?/when are we going to hear more?..." Just chill. Seriously. There are a gigantic chunk of us who have waited for months and months on RD. Many of us who applied before even knowing there was such a think as the PT track (and I'm speaking for myself here) who have watched months of people finding out super-fast on everything as we were completely ignored.
It's okay and all, I've made my peace with all of it, but maybe hold the complaints until the mid/late March area, or at least until a number of us on RD have had the chance to find out anything at all before complaining that they haven't rushed to look at you again. Their application deadline was February 15th, meaning people could go PT until then and clog it up until Feb 25th in theory (I acknowledge some RD folks have finally found out this week, but you get my point).
So while I TRULY wish every one of you the best of luck in getting in, and on finding the best place for you; maybe, just maybe hold your complaints about having to wait now for a while. Because, for a lot of us, those are difficult complaints to stomach when we've been rather forcefully filed away for a long, long time.

Yep. Really no way to say this without sounding like a dick... because this is a dick post.
FWIW, I'm a RD applicant, been on like 7 UR2's after being complete in October, and I sure as hell want to know as much as everyone else. But you know what? I appreciate people asking questions about their cycles because a) it gives me more information, and b) I know what they're going through and realize that I'm not the only person on the planet. People asking doesn't slow your app down, so I'll just go ahead and be a dick and say that you need to chill out. seriously.
Also, if you don't do your research about PT &etc, don't take it out on us.
EDIT: Also kind of sound like you still haven't done your research, because it kind of sounds like you're complaining, like, "I wish I had known about PT, I would have done it". Jeez.

Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Accepted just now! I literally screamed when I saw it.
LSAT: 169
GPA: 3.98
Priority Track, submitted 2/9, complete 2/10, under review 2/17
Got the email today, 2/20, at 6:56PM EST (Duke time)
Didn't write a Why Duke essay
Let me know if there's any other information you need.
Edit: I did include a paragraph targeted to Duke in my personal statement, although it only mentioned one aspect that I was really interested in (human rights clinic).
