That makes me wonder if he means there are no more emails going out. We already know that you have to receive the email to be eligible for the stipend, but the emails seem to trickle out a while after admission. When were you admitted? Maybe it's still on the way. I can't imagine they would cut travel funding now when they are still making decisions.couchpizza wrote:Ya dude, the guy was just like "If we haven't emailed you about it, then nope." lolRicky-Bobby wrote:Did you call and ask?couchpizza wrote:No $ for ASD travel, Nooooooo. Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
I emailed them this past weekend and received a generic response on monday that said that due to their limited budget, they cannot offer me a travel stipend. The email was actually quite rude because it was so generic that it was evident that they didn't even read the entire email, especially considering that they didn't even address all of my questions. The email was seriously like two sentences, thats it.Ricky-Bobby wrote:That makes me wonder if he means there are no more emails going out. Sorry to hear that. I don't want to make excuses for the admissions office, but maybe they were swamped in emails from the weekend and were rushing to get them all answered. I only suggest that because in my own anecdotal experience the Wash U admissions people are some of the nicest people ever.Dwaldrep wrote:

Lol the dude was nice in my case. I wouldn't go as far as to say they dislike me, they gave me a decent scholly. I guess I'll take a scholly over an ASD stipend but I want booth. I think I'm greedy,Ricky-Bobby wrote:Sorry to hear that. Had my interview with Krystal Orr. She was awesome. Really like the school. Hope I get a scholarship to go here.

I assumed it was because of their busy schedule, but something more than a scripted response would've been nice. I just hope their dislike for me doesn't impact my scholarship (whenever I get that). You should creep her LinkedIn and post a picture.Yanky91 wrote:Had my interview with Krystal Orr. She was awesome. Really like the school. Hope I get a scholarship to go here.

I spoke to Ms. Orr as well once. Can confirm she is awesome.

I don't mean to come across ungrateful but I wish that the stipend was more than $200 :/ it doesn't even cover half of the cost of just a flight from where I'm located. Don't get me wrong, it's better than having to pay the full amount for a flight! I just wish it wasn't so expensive!

This. W&L gives 300 plus meals and lodging. Kinda wish WUSTL would give us at least more so I don't have to spend almost $500 to come visit.Austinbound wrote:I don't mean to come across ungrateful but I wish that the stipend was more than $200 :/ it doesn't even cover half of the cost of just a flight from where I'm located. For those who were asking re: new dean
WUSTL is down to 4 finalists for the dean search. I expect an announcement this academic semester.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
It's probably difficult for one to choose WUSTL given a comparable option if you're unable to see the campus. But in other scenarios, where WUSTL is sufficiently cheaper and the obvious choice, then perhaps it's less pivotal to visit in-person.Attax wrote:This. W&L gives 300 plus meals and lodging. Yeah. $200 covers one way flight for me. The rest will be out of pocket. AND I'm taking work off...Attax wrote:This. W&L gives 300 plus meals and lodging. I actually only know one name, and I don't know the person. Faculty member at a t20 school. I think all know all four names by next week though -- if things sound dandy or dour (that's me trying to alliterate) I'll give my 2 cents here.sublime wrote:MikeSpivey wrote:For those who were asking re: new dean

Since I won't bother asking for names, because I know you can't tell us, do you think they are good candidates? Or have any general thoughts on their thinking?
