Withdrawn 60k. I absolutely loved Vandy and Nashville but just couldn't justify paying that much for it.

Received the much anticipated ding yesterday (via snail mail). No change in Mail Decision Date. May retake and reapply next cycle. Good luck everyone.

Want to write a LOCI but I can't find the Dean of Admissions on the website? Who do I make this letter out to?

Todd Morton is the the Dean of Admissions. I'd either write it to him or just send it To Whom it May Concern to admissions.vanderbilt.edu. Either way it will get to whoever looks at them.NewYorkL wrote:Want to write a LOCI but I can't find the Dean of Admissions on the website? Who do I make this letter out to?

Admitted today via phone call! No decision sent date listed in the checker. Pretty good financial aid offer too. That and my double deposits elsewhere make this decision very hard...

What made you decide to put in double deposits?? Is that a haggling tactic?abadname13 wrote:Admitted today via phone call! No decision sent date listed in the checker. Pretty good financial aid offer too. That and my double deposits elsewhere make this decision very hard...

No, but hopefully it will work out as a negotiation advantage!
I double deposited because of deadlines and indecisiveness. A significant scholarship led to my deposit at a T20, but afterward decided I'd rather attend a T14. This offer seems to be the perfect compromise between those two.

As a close observer (read: stalker), I think I know where you deposited

Got a letter in the mail today confirming my withdrawal and wishing me future luck. I don't think there's any school that has the class that Vandy does, and I wish I didn't have to withdraw. Enjoy those who are choosing this exceptional institution.

Interesting... I am assuming they aren't updating status checker for decisions anymore, yes?
Also, have any "late" applicants heard anything yet?

LOCI advice? Can anybody who is enthusiastic about attending Vanderbilt and/or visited the school tell me their favorite thing about the school. I'm having a tough time thinking of things to say in my LOCI from their website alone. Any help would be much appreciated
A PM would be greatly appreciated or you could post on the forum.

Still haven't heard a response back yet and debating on whether to make a 4 hour drive for a visit. What do you all think?

The two things I liked the most is the collegial atmosphere and how helpful the people in the administration were. The OL's were invited to bar review during the ASP's and I just randomly talked with a few current students. Everyone was really nice and it wasn't awkward at all. Everyone that I've been in contact with in the administration has been extremely nice and accommodating. If you feel that you really fit in there (if you visited) then you should highlight that as well. Finding the right "fit" is one of the most important things that people often don't think about.jdmonkey wrote:LOCI advice? Nashville is a pretty cool place. I would definitely consider visiting if you're seriously thinking about Vandy. They'll definitely look favorably on that when making admission/scholarship decisions. I doubt I would have received as big a merit award had I not visited.TheThriller wrote:Still haven't heard a response back yet and debating on whether to make a 4 hour drive for a visit. Dylan. Thanks very much for your response. LOCI submitted. I also spoke with admissions, because the student ambassadors are out on break, and admissions gave some good nuggets of information (in case anybody is struggling with an LOCI like I was).
