Question for those who got merit-based scholly offers..
I've heard that Boston waits until all your information is in before making any offers? I am still waiting on some parent information, so I'm hoping maybe that's why I don't have scholarship offer yet. Did all of you have your financial information in as well?

I am wondering this too. Is everyone required to complete Needs Access with parent information?ThreeRivers wrote:Question for those who got merit-based scholly offers..

My FAFSA was in but I haven't turned in my Need Access yet. Hopefully this weekend...hartma25 wrote:I am wondering this too. Is everyone required to complete Needs Access with parent information?ThreeRivers wrote:Question for those who got merit-based scholly offers..

The need access form is so frustrating. I'm supposed to give my estimated income information for 2012? Really? I work in a restaurant, so there's really no way of telling how much I'm gonna make in the next 6 months or so. What a pain in the ass.

Guys! I've figured out when we're going to be admitted. I can't believe no one noticed until now. Look:woodscommaL wrote:Thank God! I was up all night worried sick that y'all would get updated. We all know the numbers 12/06. Half of 12 is 6. Get it? So to figure out the date you need to divide 6 in half. So 3. Then divide in half again. 1.5. So 3/01.5, which ends up being noon on March 2. So get ready twelve6, March 2nd is the day. I guarantee it.

I was WL'd last week, but I also just took the Feb. LSAT. Should I wait another two weeks to send a LOCI, so I have my new scores? Or should I send one now and another when I have the scores?

What would BU consider as peer schools for scholarship negotiations?
From what I've gathered, I'd say anything on US News from 18 to 27 (18 to 23 more so); however, the collective wisdom is always welcoming.

I would say nothing lower than 23...unless you get a full ride from BC which is 277ate9 wrote:What would BU consider as peer schools for scholarship negotiations?

BU doesn't actually "negotiate scholarships," they just don't offer all their money out front. The school will more or less pay what you are worth if you ask for it. It's not like a solid offer from a good school will get them to exceed what LSN suggests you will have.
However, this means the $$ from lesser schools can work, I know someone that leveraged $ from a UF scholarship, and plenty of people use Fordham $. Just put them on notice that you want to attend, but you don't want to pay sticker.

At what point did these people inform BU? Did they wait until the March rush, or did they attempt earlier? How does BU determine my "worth?" Do I simply tell them I am worth A, because of X, Y, and Z?Cupidity wrote:BU doesn't actually "negotiate scholarships," they just don't offer all their money out front. I suppose deep down inside, I was thinking that too. Though, I can not imagine that BU will ignore a sizable scholarship offers from the upper-20s.msblaw89 wrote: I would say nothing lower than 23...unless you get a full ride from BC which is 27

Just for the record, there are some folks who have not received initial schollys PLUS did not apply for the PI Scholarship correct? Feeling like I missed the boat on some money here
