Don't know why they can't make it easier for us and just reject us already. Looked through last year's forums and 11/18'ers were getting rejected as late as Feb 25th.

I'll flip a fucking shit if I just get straight dinged come Feb, especially without FR. what I don't get is that if these schools are de facto wait listing or holding us, why not just tell us instead of doing this? A WL could've been given after an initial review and all would be well. I seriously don't get why all schools don't do this for non auto admits, it just makes sense.

I think it's because sending out WL stuff takes time. Time that they feel is better spent making decisions.

I don't see how. Instead of keeping someone's file and having to refer back to it, I mean why don't all schools just automatically wait list people that aren't auto admit or auto ding numbers. You are essentially waiting on a list to get into the school after they've determined how many overqualified applicants they want, why not actually use the device named after the process of waiting on lists? It would take far less time to click a button and have a WL email go out then having a school consistently get bombarded by emails and questions from pending applicants.

I just got a call from someone at admissions, and it was good news! In with 3.51/171. I'm not gonna lie; I was very surprised.

Can someone run through B´s policies.

It's not very good news... but it is better than nothing. About 1200-1600 people go to faculty review and only about 10-12% are accepted

I'd say no, and I actually think it might hurt your chances. You'd be telling Berkeley that they should just wait to accept you next year, once you've already taken an extra year to gain WE/do something interesting/whatever it is that would help your chances then. Doesn't seem like a good idea to tell law schools in general that you're not 100% serious about attending this fall.
