Week 11, here we go.
That's wouldn't even be that terrible, if they didn't tell me I was going to hear something weeks ago.

Couldnt have been resent on purpose cause we all got 2 emails (this is the third): once when we couldn't access the PDF and once when the PDFs were working again. They just made me sad again.speedyj88 wrote:Can you let me know what they say if and when they get back to you?2011Cycle wrote:Exact same thing happen to me! I sent them a response and received their standard bounce-back 'thanks for your inquiry' email
edit: seeing Gotti posting above me, I'm thinking they either had an error with their system or resent out the email to all of us 2/8 holds.

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
Hey something interesting just happened. I was on LSAC because I'm retaking the LSAT tomorrow and looking through my LSAC reports I noticed that they finally sent my updated report (two more LORs) to Northwestern on the 8th of Feb. I know a lot of people were wondering if you can send extra LORs to Northwestern through LSAC after you applied, well apparently you can.

and i have no idea what NU is doing, a decision soon would be nice. However it is fun to be along for the ride, as many other candidates (better than I) have been rejected, so it might be just dumb luck they haven't AR'ed me haha

I received my first "decision rendered" email on Tuesday, which was the day that their whole status checker website went bonkers and decision letter PDFs were unavailable. The following day, on Wednesday, they sorted out their uploading problems and I officially found out that I was held.
Just a few minutes ago, I received another email from Northwestern informing me that a comittee decision has been made. The letter on my status checker is still the one dated February 8, 2011. Anyone else have this happen to them? Should I be expecting a different decision letter to be uploaded? I got a little excited with everyone receiving positive news today.
Thought they had actually made a decision. Nope.

aah - finally just finished my interview at Northwestern. Interview went great. It was a lot more casual than i was expecting, the interviewer was very nice as well. First exposure to law school students ... Chicago is beautiful of course - i should have taken some pictures of the law school, and done some sightseeing, but I had to leave shortly after the interview was over.

question: I submitted my app for northwestern on Jan 15th and was interviewed on Jan 21th. But until now, i havent even received an email acknowledged the receipt of my apps. Is it normal? No email? no status checker?

Go to their website to access the status checker. Once on that page you can request your ID# be emailed to you. Once you have that you can log in & see when your application went complete. If it's not complete I would call & inquire since it's been a while.nakiko2003 wrote:question: I submitted my app for northwestern on Jan 15th and was interviewed on Jan 21th. Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
Hey guys, I am flying to Chicago for an interview with Northwestern this week for an on-campus interview. Since I am a borderline candidate (3.76/170) who is still in college, I thought I needed to go the extra mile to show them my commitment.
Do you guys have any tips? Anything will be helpful, thanks!!
Congrats to the accepted! I really hope to get into NW, too...

The link for the financial aid deadlines doesn't work for me - does anyone know the priority deadlines for submitting those forms/Need Access?

I believe 3/1, but they suggest have need access/fafsa completed by February 15th.BarnabeSpooge wrote:The link for the financial aid deadlines doesn't work for me - does anyone know the priority deadlines for submitting those forms/Need Access?

Straight from the ASW:BarnabeSpooge wrote:The link for the financial aid deadlines doesn't work for me - does anyone know the priority deadlines for submitting those forms/Need Access?
The deadline for submitting your complete financial aid application is March 1 at 5 pm CST, but we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. We will consider you for scholarship/grant assistance once we have received both your Need Access application and your Scholarship and Grant Supplemental Application. We do not need your FAFSA for scholarship consideration, but we cannot give you a complete financial aid package (which includes loan funding options) until we receive your FAFSA. If you complete your financial aid application by the March 1 deadline, we will provide you with a preliminary aid package before the April 30 tuition deposit deadline.

What the hell?planQ wrote:Dinged Via Satus Checker, no letter sent just on status checker.
I went to check my status checker because of this and it shows I was held in late January. I was waiting for any email so I haven't been checking my status checker. I haven't received an email from them and I always check my spam folder before deleting messages. All my other correspondence from them has gone straight to my inbox anyways.
Kinda sad how unprofessional the "law school for professionals" seems to be this cycle.
Oh, well. I still love you, NU.

for those who haven't heard from NU yet, all we can do for financial aid is the FAFSA and Need Access, correct?

There's a supplemental scholarship app, with two essay questions.rs2004 wrote:for those who haven't heard from NU yet, all we can do for financial aid is the FAFSA and Need Access, correct?
Edited for RC fail: Sorry, didn't see that you were asking about what you can do before you are accepted. Yes, you are correct.
