Looking at LSN it seems like last year they sent out some mixed batches of acceptances and rejections

LSN shows that last year it was mixed rejections and acceptances the first week, and then a sheet of rejections. The further into the week it was, the more likely it was a rejection.

maybe we aren't DRed yesterday with all those acceptances because we are the ED batch? I do remember dean cornblatt mention that they stick the ED'ers in a different pile with different colored folders...
(*hopeful*, versus the alternative that we frankly arent acceptances)

ED here...and from what I compiled, yes we were all ED....all 11/30 were RD except for avocado who just sent them a DS that might have speed up the process...and his numbers are very similar to the numbers here...also a lot of URM with good numbers here so i wouldnt be SO negative about it although i would have caution

The first waitlists are already out.dakatz wrote:Oh boy, I'm at DR! SO nervous now, because I feel like they are due to send out the first round of rejections/waitlists.
I went DR on 11/20 and received the waiting list email on 11/25. I was RD FT & PT.

Guys I really think they are just cleaning up their first round of applications (ED and RD) and we are at the bottom of the pile.

Also, from the scarce amount of ppl on LSN, I noticed that the DR that received their actual decision on 12/04 and 12/05 were rejects and waitlists and acceptances, but with the most rejects, then waitlists, then accepts, etc.

I'm not giving up hope just yet. I looked on LSN for the URM applicants from last year, and almost none with my numbers or better were rejected, or even waitlisted. I believe there were about 3 or 4 rejections and about the same waitlists for that subsection of URM applicants. The vast majority of URM applicants with my numbers or above got in, so yeah I'm nervous and all, but I'm not throwing in the towel and expecting a rejection letter just yet.

You'll have to check last years thread for that. I would think snail mail, it's the only classy way to do it.jk11287 wrote:what about rejections?Veritas wrote:The first rounds of WLs was by email last Wednesdaygeneral100 wrote:Are waitlists/rejections by email? Does anyone know?

Srsly though, considering how many URMs are in this situation, the 12/1 seems like it might include URM acceptances.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Thats is exactly what is giving me hope. I believe that most schools put URM's in its own pile, to be stacked up against each other, because so many URM applicants simply don't have the numbers to stack up to other applicants. They then compare the URM's to each other and pick out some of the top ones. And, while our stats may not be super high compared to the people on TLS, they are undoubtedly very high for most URM's applying to Georgetown.wootwootdc wrote:Im URM also...i think they literally piled us up and picked the best...i dont think they would reject all of the URM here
