Also, it seems like (and I selfishly want it to be the case that) Duke is looking to make more LSAT moves this year with scholarships. Although in general I still think it's odd we have yet to see 114K thrown out, that was a very common tier last year

If they're looking to make LSAT moves, why am I still stuck on a bloody PR list... *grumble*Dr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:Also, it seems like (and I selfishly want it to be the case that) Duke is looking to make more LSAT moves this year with scholarships. is there a non-numbers reason you expected that much? I thought you would have gotten at least 120K since you have T6 numbers.Dr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:90K at Duke
Like others have said a perfectly respectable offer that was definitely inside my expected/hoped for range, but I selfishly would have liked more. Either way, I will try to push them over 100k but it is great to have a school and scholarship that I will take even if I get no other acceptances or offers

Re: Duke Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
ah okay. and tbh, I think you'll have plenty of other options to push Duke over 100KDr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:My family's not "rich", but I didn't think need was going to contribute much if any to their calculation. Also since my last cycle I have tried to be way more realistic/cynical about my expectations. I'm not sure what is about my app, but there's probably something in there that isn't helping me, and with my GPA I didn't think I was going to get 120. That only leaves 105 or lower right now for some reason, and 90 is only 1 tier lower. Most of it probably comes down to looking at the tiers, it's weird as shit but once I got comfy with the massive gulfs I have gotten more ok with 90.proteinshake wrote:is there a non-numbers reason you expected that much? IDK, I'm trying not to be bitter, if I'm being honest with myself I really thought I was going to get 105, but in the grand scheme of things 5k a year isn't enough to make me choose a lower ranked school, and I'm blessed to have family support (and no UG debt FSU papa bless) so I anticipate leaving law school with under well under 100k in debt. I'll let the chips fall over the next month and try to negotiate when I know everything, but for now I'm content.

Yeah, need to fill out FAFSA for student loans. I haven't seen a school yet that doesn't require it. See section "Loans" at: https://law.duke.edu/welcome/budget/applying/proteinshake wrote:are we supposed to fill out FAFSA? and if so, do we have to do it for every school?

UR2 for two weeks now - I was prepared to not hear from Duke until way late in the game, but then they got my hopes up with that date change. Anyone else wait this long after going UR2?

Does the admissions office let you know your financial aid award details over the phone? Its been a while, and I haven't gotten the letter so I'm worried it got lost in the mail.
