So anyone in the Dec 1 round still yet to get their admissions packet?

Me! Totally thought they had forgotten me or that my mail was stolen...

I got a small box in the mail with some NYU post-its and a little info booklet. Is that the admissions packet? When I heard "pizza box," I was expecting something a little more impressive, so maybe not?

I got the post-its package, too, but it was in addition to the previous admission packet, which was larger.

I was also wondering where the pizza box term came from after seeing the not quite pizza-sized post-its box. This makes more sense. I want pizza!

Did all the people who went UR1 in January and subsequently have a UR2 apply for any named scholarships? I'm still UR1 1/3 and applied for one. Seeing all these post-New Years UR2s is just making me skittish I guess.

I submitted 12/31, UR1 shortly after, UR2 1/11 and I applied for a named scholarship.

It's not, and it is. They send you a nicer bundle of stuff. Took a few weeks for mine after acceptance, but there was speculation a few pages back that NYU has only just starting sending the admissions packets and the turn-around would be faster for more recent admits.

I submitted early January, UR 1 two days later, UR 2 this morning! Im out of the queue! Im impressed by the quick turnaround NYU

So I just realized that "What to Expect When You're Expecting" lists NYU's Under Review and UR1 as separate items. If I'm Under Review and the date has changed once, am I at UR1 or UR2?

Good God man, we're two weeks in to January, there's a ton of time left in the cycle. Schools are busy (see: Michigan thread), there's nothing to worry about.

Okay... but some people shared their status without quoting too and I only had this attitude in one previous post for NYU. But I know where you're coming from-- negative post like mine can be irksome. I'll go easy on the emojis next time

This is true. My mistake, I thought it was more, simply because that one thread you created. but yea. just chill. Everyone is waiting for decisions to somewhere. I've only heard back from 30% of the schools I've applied to since Sept/Oct.

Email them and they will send you a form to fill out and then they will decide. Last year, they gave me money but told me I also had to ask CLS for money and both schools each gave like $125.

Also, in case anyone is curious admitted students are not required to fill out NeedAccess in order to be considered for merit awards. Just email them and let them know you're not being considered on need and they'll send you the merit application

What is the "merit application"? I don't see anything about that on the website. Is there some additional thing I'm supposed to be filling out for the merit scholarship, or are you saying they gave you a form to fill out in lieu of NeedAccess?

ETA: Not sure why one wouldn't want to be considered for a need-based scholly, unless he or she has substantial wealth and just doesn't want to deal with filling out all the info.
