Yeah- me either. I got held and they sent me two emails about sending a LOCI, both due the week and the day before I got married. UMMM.... I applied and you have told me nothing. Why the hell would I write you a loci??? I applied, I'm interested. But not really so much anymore. Columbia is honestly ridiculous and I'm over it.

Word. 2/3 and haven't heard a peep.
Emailed the admissions office earlier this week about a tentative timeline and received a response stating my file was still under review and I would likely hear by the end of April.

Man, this waiting will be the end of me!

I wonder if anyone has ever heard of people being admitted off the waitlist and getting some money (at least need based) from Columbia

Just got in after being held and interviewed.
Is it safe to assume all butlers/hamiltons have already been awarded, or do I still have a shot?

...and boom goes the dynamite. Thin envelope, straight rejection. Not surprised, but still somewhat bruising to my ego. Anyways, good luck to all still waiting!

They must be losing at least some good candidates... Being able to go to ASWs and consider a school for many months makes a huge difference. Can't imagine that protecting yield or whatever they're doing is worth it all.

Sent my LOCI in 3 days after it was requested + an addendum concerning my grades (documented illnesses throughout undergrad). Short of saying it outright, I'm not sure how else to convey to Columbia that I'd be willing to offer my firstborn child and a kidney in exchange for admission. :(

Just had my interview. A lot more conversational than I was expecting, but I think it went okay. Definitely have a couple questions ready. My interviewer seemed really passionate about Columbia (even took a jab at NYU for over-selling their PI-focus).

Fingers crossed. Would love to go here.

Can report that they are still admitting people - xyloderp, currently banned for being a derp, was admitted after being held, and doing an interview earlier this week. Note: I hate xyloderp; she shares application news with me just to rub it in, even though that makes no sense because I got into columbia too, but whatever.

So... I've been complete since 2/4. Radio silence since then, no interview request or anything. Is it safe to assume this dream is dead?

someone, anyone, please say no.

All of the Held --> Interviewed --> Admits from this week seem to be either traditional splitters, or people at/above both 75ths.

Granted, that's based on a half-dozen examples, but it looks like they might be trying to shore up their LSAT numbers.

I would concur and add to this line of thought:
LSAT>75th 25<GPA<Median splitter.
Held--->Interview--->Admit

Did anyone else who got reserved get a hand-written note on their reserve letter? My friend did, and I didn't, and I'm thinking maybe I should just withdraw given how few people they take from their WL.

I think I read about that happening (getting a handwritten note, that is) either earlier in this thread or in the 2017 thread. Not entirely sure what the consensus was on what it means.

Have there been any acceptances for held applicants who weren't invited to interview or is silence at this point indicative of a WL/ding? Got about 5 emails today reminding me about deposit deadlines so I'm really ready to give someone my money at this point. What's up with the NYC schools making people wait forever?!

Apparently, there's a thin letter from Columbia waiting for me at home. Going to go ahead and assume it's a rejection and bid you all adieu. Best of luck to those still waiting!
