Finally had a status change - from early-mid January to 3/23. Glad to at least have some movement as deadlines draw near.

UR2?
I honestly don't remember. I didn't keep very good track of the dates/how many date changes.

For what it's worth, last year's LSN had about 3 1/2 pages of accepts (+ wait list accepts), and this year we're at about 2 1/3 .

However, they also had more applicant profiles posted last year... so there's some flimsy data to chew on

I have a quick question. At this point, is going from UR1 and UR2 necessarily a good thing? I'm asking because I've noticed that couple people got admitted straight from UR1 this month whereas some people went up to UR3 and UR4 before getting rejected or accepted.

Thanks so much

I have no idea if it's a good thing in terms of likelihood of admission, but I do know it's a good thing in terms of getting an answer. Although as I typed that I worried that I was jinxing myself by being impatient for bad news. Which is stupid, I know, but all this waiting has started to wear thin.

Received my letter in the mail today... and I was wondering whether the dean writes a personal note to all the people to whom NYU extends offers? Because they extend about 1.7k offers every year, and that would be a lot of notes to write about applications. Admittedly, the writing does look very hasty, and it's not long at all; however, it could just be the case that his intent was to be succinct, and that his writing always has that appearance.

WELL NYU, I THOUGHT IT WAS A GESTURE TO RECRUIT ME.

Nah, but I was surprised that they did write something relating to my personal statement. Although now I'm wondering if the dean gets help on that lol.

Just because they do it for everyone doesn't mean it isn't a gesture to recruit you. :)

I thought I was a snowflake! A snowflake!!!

No, but really. It caused confusion because the pizza box arrived before the letter congratulating me/offering me admission. I thought it was weird that I didn't get one of those letters, actually... Then I received my mail today.

rejections have been happening here and there (based on tls & lsn) and if they're following last year's playbook (a huge assumption, i know) WL emails will happen in a huge batch over a couple days in mid-april

I just looked at last years thread. Someone in this thread categorized it as a bloodbath and they were absolutely right. Waves of dings all through the first week of April (4/4 and 4/7) I think as well as the last Fri of March. Good luck mateys a storm is abrewing out there. (Disclaimer: Just speculation!)

DLS as of this morning! If I get the screen to change my password on the ASW, does that mean I am in?
