I don't know man, with your stats it's probably just a polite way to reject you...best to do it in a crowded place, you know, don't make a scene.politics89 wrote:I just got an alumni interview request after sitting on 12/17 for awhile. Honestly, I don't know how Georgetown is with YPing, but if you're stats are real, that is almost definitely what they are doing. Just show commitment to DC at the interview.
Seems like the ones above the medians have been, for the most part, getting in without interviews.

Got an interview request today also. I'm above 75th LSAT and between 25th and 50th for GPA. URM. I guess it's my GPA and late app that did me in. Makes me very nervous about Stanford and Berk.politics89 wrote:I just got an alumni interview request after sitting on 12/17 for awhile. Don't worry-I also got an interview request today and am above both 75ths, and I'm already in at Berkeley. It's not at all a bad thing to get an interview request!gma221 wrote:Got an interview request today also. I'm above 75th LSAT and between 25th and 50th for GPA. URM. Haha, I, on the other hand, am at the 75 LSAT and <50 GPA and am worried because I haven't heard about an interview. But I also applied PT.
Good luck!

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
With all these interview requests going out today, I feel as if they're trying to gauge actual interest in G'town. Obviously most of you have the numbers.
I interviewed in early December and I'm stuck at 12/20. Borderline candidate at 168/3.5 URM.
I figure there are others like me who they're going to accept/reject based on the new interviews.
So like, if you're not interested in Georgetown just say: "I'm not 100% on DC, but I know KanyeShrug is, so..."

The email that I got today says that they gurantee a decision within 3 weeks after the end of your interview. I'm guessing this wasnt the case for your interview?KanyeShrug wrote:With all these interview requests going out today, I feel as if they're trying to gauge actual interest in G'town. Above both 75ths and an interview request after over a month at complete with no date changes. Glad that they didn't forget about me at least!

Ok that's also what mine says. I misread it on my first glance through it.KanyeShrug wrote:My interview request email, which I received on 11/5 (bryanjbay12 wrote: The email that I got today says that they gurantee a decision within 3 weeks after the end of your interview. Status update earlier today and dinged after 5 PM eastern. It seems the status update can occur at any time and email goes out after 5 PM. Looks like I will be retaking the LSAT later this year.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Received my interview request today.
Can anybody speak to the flexibility / timing of alumni interview requests? I'd like to participate in one, but I know the email mentions that they understand if applicants can't complete it to due to finances or timing. I do typically have time to fit it into my schedule, but I've noticed a lot of people seem to get a date from their interviewer right off the bat. I'll be traveling out of town a good portion of the next two months and my day-to-day work schedule is highly variable, so I don't want to agree to doing an interview and be unable to make it to the date my interviewer requests and have it come back as more of me flaking on an interview I requested when I could opt out right now.

Well, I think that you are better off doing it. Are you doing in-person or phone/skype?
I mean if you can get them to do phone or skype, then I am sure that you'll be able to find 20 minutes to interview.

My email didn't make any mention of a Skype interview, it seems as if it's only in-person interviews with alumni in the area.SparkyZZZ wrote:Well, I think that you are better off doing it. Are you doing in-person or phone/skype?

Specifically, there's this bit in the FAQ attached to the email:
"Who will conduct the interview and where will it take place?
Interviews are conducted by Alumni Interviewers around the country. We will attempt to match you with an alumnus in your area. If no interviewers are available in your area, we will promptly return your application to review with the Admissions Committee."
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
