Yeah, if it is they are doing almost the opposite of UVA. It seemed like it wasn't what they were going to do a couple of days ago with applicants at/above both 75th percentiles getting in.gta wrote:Wow... not much to say about what's going on here. Maybe a new admissions strategy to get higher yield... WL everyone and then accept those that make an effort (send a LOCI)?
Yep, that's a waitlist. Welcome - there have been many of you tonight, on this the day of the VP Bloodbath.graphia wrote:Got the following e-mail:
"Thank you for your application to the University of Pennsylvania Law School. The Admissions Committee has completed its preliminary review of your application and has decided to hold your file for further review.
The admissions process at Penn Law is a deliberative process. Every file is read by numerous members of the Admissions Committee. As of this date, your file has been reviewed by at least two members of the Committee and we are impressed with your credentials. We are continuing our review of your file however, and thus have not yet rendered a decision..."
Guessing this is a waitlist? Status checker still says under committee review, but with a date change to 1/16.

Weird! Graphia, were you ED? Do they hold non-ED apps?Blackjack45 wrote:Mine saysgraphia wrote:Got the following e-mail:

"Thank you for your interest in the University of Pennsylvania Law School. The Admissions Committee has completed its review of your application and would like to offer you a position on our wait list.
The Admissions Committee carefully considers the qualifications and merits of each applicant. Though your application is impressive, we are not in a position to offer you a seat in our entering class at this time. We anticipate reviewing as many as 5,000 applications for our incoming class of approximately 250 students. A hallmark of Penn Law is its small, intimate community and it is important that we maintain this environment; thus, we are exercising caution in the number of admission offers we extend at this time.
We will begin the review of wait listed candidates in mid-May. It may well be that we will make admission offers to wait listed candidates over the course of the summer; however, we cannot predict the number of positions that may become available. We appreciate that a position on the wait list puts you in a difficult situation and that you will want to know more about your probability for admissions. Be assured that we will contact you as soon as we are in a position to provide further information and/or make a final decision.
Please consider our invitation to stay on the wait list. You should notify us of your interest by replying directly to this message. We request that you respond no later than 02/06/2014. If we do not hear from you by that date, we will conclude that you no longer wish to be considered and will withdraw your application."
And my status checker says "Wait list". What does it all mean?

My theory, although I'm open to it being slightly inaccurate, is that 12/3 UR1 people are stuck in an endless limbo of an alternate reality like Mary Jane in the 90s animated Spider-Man (who's old enough to get this reference...?).pcthenls wrote:Wow... Just got caught up to speed. This is madness. Us 12/3 folks still confused and waiting while people with amazing stats are getting WLed. What's the theory on 12/3?

I wasn't ED. I applied in mid-September. Numbers are 174-176 and 3.9x. I have some unique factors in my application though, PM me if you want more info.Ambi-Turner wrote: Weird! Graphia, were you ED? Do they hold non-ED apps?

Really hoping to get good news from other places before my eventual WL at VP next month.

If I got wl I don't think I would necessarily be considered a yp with 3.6 175...mulhollanddrive wrote:With a high 3.6X and 171, am I even considered to be in YP territory? Or will they see me as a normal applicant?
Your LSAT is just about their 75% (barely), and your GPA is right in their middle range.mulhollanddrive wrote:With a high 3.6X and 171, am I even considered to be in YP territory? Or will they see me as a normal applicant?
