The admissions process at Penn Law is a deliberative process. Every file is read by numerous members of the Admissions Committee. As of this date, your file has been reviewed by at least two members of the Committee and we are impressed with your credentials. We are continuing our review of your file however, and thus have not yet rendered a decision..."

Guessing this is a waitlist? Status checker still says under committee review, but with a date change to 1/16.

Yeah, if it is they are doing almost the opposite of UVA. It seemed like it wasn't what they were going to do a couple of days ago with applicants at/above both 75th percentiles getting in.

Incredible some of the waitlists and denials posted tonight. I'm still stuck at UR1 12/3 with a bunch of others...I'm not really sure what I'm hoping for at this point. Maybe I can just stay UR forever...haha

I have a 171 LSAT and 3.6X GPA (closer to 3.7). I submitted around mid december and file just went 'complete'and is 'on queue for review' by the adcomm. Any idea how long the wait might be?

Also, I wrote the 'why penn/core strengths' essay indicating that it was my first choice - softs/ps are rather negligible, but numbers-wise do you guys think am I looking good to get in? With their 169 median I am hoping that my 171 looks good to them??

We anticipate reviewing as many as 5,000 applications for our incoming class of approximately 250 students. A hallmark of Penn Law is its small, intimate community and it is important that we maintain this environment; thus, we are exercising caution in the number of admission offers we extend at this time.

We will begin the review of wait listed candidates in mid-May. It may well be that we will make admission offers to wait listed candidates over the course of the summer; however, we cannot predict the number of positions that may become available. We appreciate that a position on the wait list puts you in a difficult situation and that you will want to know more about your probability for admissions. I think the only reason why I survived the bloodbath today that is that my app went complete in the second half of November.

Really hoping to get good news from other places before my eventual WL at VP next month.

My theory, although I'm open to it being slightly inaccurate, is that 12/3 UR1 people are stuck in an endless limbo of an alternate reality like Mary Jane in the 90s animated Spider-Man (who's old enough to get this reference...?).

If I got wl I don't think I would necessarily be considered a yp with 3.6 175...

Your LSAT is just about their 75% (barely), and your GPA is right in their middle range.

I'd say you're safe.
