First time poster here, but y'all seem pretty awesome from the threads i've read through so far, so i was hoping to get some advice! I'm re-taking in February and don't know whether I should let schools know (in the effort of avoiding a potential ding) or whether I should just wait it out in order to avoid dooming my app to the forgotten pile until march/april? (submitted late november, 3.9, strong softs, international (non-english-speaking country)

It kinda depends on how bad your first LSAT was... And which schools we're taking about because a few specifically refuse to look at February LSAT scores

I'm actually in the same position. Their system is synced with LSAC, so they already know that you'll be taking the test. NYU confirmed that their policy is to hold these apps until the Feb LSAT score is released. Haven't contacted Columbia about their policy though. I think it might be the same, but you can ask and double-check.

97th percentile, so not awful but not great either - and I was mainly interested in Columbia, Harvard, and potentially Chicago since I'm already in at NYU. Do you know anything about their policies? Thanks!

They know you're retaking. They're not gong to risk dinging you before that score comes.

Dropping this here as well. This goes especially for those who've I seen ask for numbers but never give theirs.

Not gonna lie, I'm starting to get peeved by people who presumably use this place as a resource and then dont put their stats up or link to them in their profile. Then to make matters worse they come into this thread or one of the school waiting threads and say "Accepted" or "In". At that point its nothing but a one way celebratory masturbation. No paying it forward or anything just another way of saying "I'm great, I'm in, I'm so happy, now congratulate me".

And before I hear any anonymity complains, that's just another way of saying, hey you suckers put your numbers up, but I'm smarter than that, so I'll just exploit your sense of altruism or responsibility or whatever motivates the rest of us to put our numbers up.

If you use this place as resource help others by giving your stats, if you're to special to do that, dont add insult to injury by sharing your success. Go find another napkin.

Please contribute If you're concerned about anonymity, fudge your numbers a bit - most people do, and the fudging cancels out (I know Regulus won't like me saying this). Plus, unless you're a 2.5/180, there are probably lots of people who have the same numbers as you. AdComms don't have the time to browse LSN or these forums to any significant degree, and even if they did, and went through the effort to try to track down an applicant, I don't think they would ever, ever, ever let that affect your application unless they were 100% positive the two matched up. So just make sure you're not putting up your address and phone number and name.

On another note, nothing seems to be here for me But I could (though it's unlikely) theoretically get an email about a package for a few more hours.
