Yeah, I sort of stopped thinking about SMU for awhile because of interest in other schools, but now I'm leaning back towards SMU. I've done some research and have seen the numbers and am a little surprised too- I figured I'd at least get in for the PT program. Should I contact them?kalvano wrote:renee88 wrote:was notified I was being held for review in January,

I find this very surprising.

I would, just to ask when you can expect a decision as it's time to start narrowing down schools.

Aww. Well, good to know. I think I'll try and call them tomorrow anyway...I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Selected as a finalist for the Sarah T. Hughes scholarship. Interviewing this week. Anyone have any idea of what to expect?
Also, I have no idea how parking is around Ross Avenue. Anyone from Dallas that could suggest a nearby parking garage or is street-level parking not that bad? The exact address is 2101 Ross Avenue (Belo Mansion).

SMU, I love you, I really do. I just wish you would let me know if you love me back very soon. I'm kind of over the waiting game by now.

There's a parking garage under the Belo Mansion. I'm sure they'll validate your ticket.ArchRoark wrote:Selected as a finalist for the Sarah T. Hughes scholarship. Interviewing this week. Anyone have any idea of what to expect?

Congrats, and good luck with the interview.

Re: SMU 2011
According to LSN it looks like there was a long wait between March and around April 20th for the next round of acceptances. Obviously they could change things up, but historically SMU has been fairly consistent with their late-in-the-game time frames.jacketman03 wrote:SMU, I love you, I really do. Thanks, but I decided to just fly in. Wasn't really looking forward to an 8hr commute (4ish hrs each way).Thirteen wrote: There's a parking garage under the Belo Mansion. I'm sure they'll validate your ticket.

Phone call. Thanks! Didn't really expect that I would get this far. My decision is going to be easy if I end up getting selected.swilson215 wrote: How were you told that you'd been selected as a finalist? Congrats!

anybody else have their application complete day bump to 3/18? I just checked and saw it today. Totally inconsequential or what?

Re: SMU 2011
My status went to application completed on 3/16. I am not sure what that means but I have read that most people are getting dinged via the status checker and not usually though snail mail. I submitted in early October BTW.

Re: SMU 2011
Mine was also bumped to 3/18, and there was new text at the top of the page: "You may notice that your current status date has changed. This is either because a portion of your file has been updated or the initial review of your file has been completed..." I haven't sent anything in since applying, so I assume the latter applies in my case... Can anybody shed a little light on this for us?the_drake wrote:anybody else have their application complete day bump to 3/18? I just checked and saw it today. Totally inconsequential or what?

Re: SMU 2011
99% chance you are accepted. Everybody I have seen that has gotten a status date update has been accepted. If you are rejected it shows it on the status checker with no date updatelajksdgbiu wrote:Mine was also bumped to 3/18, and there was new text at the top of the page: "You may notice that your current status date has changed. I RSVP'd for the dinner tomorrow; a printable parking pass for the law garage was included in the confirmation email.kalvano wrote:You should get a pass for the law school garage for any dinners. There's plenty of parking and it's right next to the school.

Re: SMU 2011
I sent an email to the admissions office requesting the status of my application (last status went to Application Completed 3/16) and I received a response back saying late April or early May (I applied in October). That being said my numbers are well under their medians so it is amazing I was not dinged long ago. Good luck everyone, I think that I am going elsewhere.

Were you held for further review initially?

No. My status just changed the other day to application completed. But I guess that it is better than a denial
I have other options but was hopefull about SMU because of the location of my family.

Has anyone else been "application completed 3/10" and not heard anything yet? The date hasn't been updated like some other people's, but I haven't heard anything either. Numbers are above both medians.

hmm but you applied in October? Wouldn't you have been under EA and gotten a status update on 1/31 with the rest of us? Or did you go complete late?dwilson81 wrote:No. My status just changed the other day to application completed. I think you and I are the only ones (on TLS at least) that went "application completed" on 3/10. I applied back in November but they were waiting on my Feb.
