Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
11/17 UR2 here...
I'm 75th LSAT and >75th GPA...
I kinda thought I would get in, but now I am realistically bracing for waitlist at best.
Am I the only one here confused??

Not exactly the same, but 12/3 UR2 and still waiting here. >75th LSAT and >75th GPA. I'm also a tad bit confused given the swift acceptances people are reporting.mdu wrote:11/17 UR2 here...

Yeah I'm above both too and at a 10/29 UR1 I'd be dying for the speed your moving. It's like NYU is very clearly saying to me: yeah, meh, we don't want you.ThatWouldBeEnough wrote:Not exactly the same, but 12/3 UR2 and still waiting here. >75th LSAT and >75th GPA. Hey at least you can dry your tears with that UChicago acceptance! Big congrats!Po$eidon wrote:This is almost me. Tho I'm really so much luckier (snark) with my 10/29 date.urbanist11 wrote:No movement since 10/8 lol. Gonna be great to get that April waitlist decision... 7 months after applying.

Yeah I'm definitely feeling Chicago right now. There's totally something to be said about feeling wanted. Still, I frickin LIVE in NYC. My husband LIVES (and works) in NYC. We'll have to do long distance for at least my first two years of law school if I choose UChi which will be hard but at this point that's probably how it's going to work out (but I love UChi and JFK-OHare flights are cheap).urbanist11 wrote:Hey at least you can dry your tears with that UChicago acceptance! Checking in. Complete on 1/4, UR1 1/8, UR2 1/12. Any chance I'll hear back soon?

Did all the people who went UR1 in January and subsequently have a UR2 apply for any named scholarships? I'm still UR1 1/3 and applied for one. Seeing all these post-New Years UR2s is just making me skittish I guess.

Applied to one and went UR1 12/22. Haven't had any movement since.

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Checking in the admissions spreadsheets, does anyone else predict a median LSAT increase to 170? Those seem to be the the ones getting in the most.
Also I got a fee waver recently with 50th percentile LSAT and below 25th GPA. Do they really want me, or just a selectivity boost?

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Appicants and LSAT takers are up so they could possibly be looking to go back up to a 170 median but even amongst applicants to T14 schools, TLS users tend to lean towards the higher end of the spectrum in terms of stats - especially when you consider that people with better numbers tend to share them more freely than do those with lower numbers - so I wouldn't necessarily take it as being representative of the cycle as a whole.lawyersHATEhim wrote:Checking in the admissions spreadsheets, does anyone else predict a median LSAT increase to 170? Fee waivers are just fee waivers. NYU doesn't even pull the trigger themselves. CAS automatically sends waivers to pretty much everyone with stats in a certain range. It doesn't necessarily mean you stand a better shot at admission simply for getting one, just that your numbers were good enough for the system to send one your way.

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Mostly just common sense, though I could certainly be wrong. Their office doesn't grant waivers upon solicitation, they handle all merit fee waivers through CRS. From there, since you haven't applied yet, they don't have anything to go on besides the limited information in your CRS profile and scores. I highly doubt there's someone at NYU whose job it is to scroll through the 10,000-20,000 profiles there are looking for people who meet whatever arbitrary standards they'd have for granting a merit waiver to one 170/3.7 and not another when they don't have access to anything really important like your softs or resume. Not to mention I've had several CRS waivers come through in the middle of the night, another reason I doubt there's a person in the office making sure I get a waiver at 4:00am.oliverotis wrote:source?

I got a small box in the mail with some NYU post-its and a little info booklet. Is that the admissions packet? When I heard "pizza box," I was expecting something a little more impressive, so maybe not?lebongenre wrote:jetsfan1 wrote:So anyone in the Dec 1 round still yet to get their admissions packet?

Anyone got any good information on average scholarships, statistics, etc? The spreadsheets from previous years aren't that fleshed out.

I got the post-its package, too, but it was in addition to the previous admission packet, which was larger.cbbinnyc wrote:I got a small box in the mail with some NYU post-its and a little info booklet. Two status updates in two days. UR1 11/30, UR2 1/13, UR3 1/14. Does this mean I should expect a decision soon?
