I went through last years thread and it seems like the end of March a bunch of DLS nevers went into UR3 all of a sudden and either got accepted quickly or WL. Then the last Friday in March was a total bloodbath, dings non stop.hopeboaltberkeley wrote:what does it all mean???DiniMae wrote:UR3

Fair enough; I guess I didn't realize that tuition gets that low at state flagships. It does beg the question of where the cutoff is though. I mean would GULC be a trap school? LST estimated debt is around $300K with 11% of students receiving over half tuition and 37% receiving any aid at all. Presumably the only way to quickly pay off that kind of debt would be biglaw, but GULC's biglaw placement rate is well below 50% (41.4%). So is GULC a trap school, albeit less of a trap than Fordham or GW?
Disclaimer: I'm not trying to convince anyone that Fordham or any other schools are/are not trap schools. I'm trying to get a good understanding for what the definition is and where the line between trap/not trap is.
ON TOPIC: Waitlisted at Chicago and Columbia. The Village just got a lot more attractive..

Like at this point, I'm pretty sure there's no way I'll be accepted, but hope is a dangerous thing.

Can someone help direct me to the right thread for answering questions like:
Once you put down a deposit are you required to withdraw from schools you haven't been waitlisted at?
Sorry for the annoying question!

May be a silly question, but how do you know if UR1, UR2, or UR3. Are you just basing this off of date changes?

Another silly question, what do all the acronyms I've seen in this thread mean? For instance, UR1?Jessicakes90 wrote:Yep! I was UR 1 on 2/18. Now UR2 on 3/19.tfarunner wrote:May be a silly question, but how do you know if UR1, UR2, or UR3. Are you just basing this off of date changes?

UR = "under review". UR 1 would be the first date your application is "under review". UR2 would be the next time your status checker date changes.jimmyjustice wrote:Another silly question, what do all the acronyms I've seen in this thread mean? DLS = decision letter sent.
Hope that helps!

I had a UR2 when they got my new LSAT score, but I'm pretty sure they just looked at my app again, were like "nope, still not into this," and put it back in the drawer it's been gathering dust in for 2.5 months. #laststatuscheckerstanding

Checking in... Submitted 1/3, UR3 since 1/16. Current NYU undergrad. The wait is maddening, especially because I walk by the law school every day.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
