Waitlisted via email. Above both medians. Withdrawing. Its been real Cordell

I kind of want to stay on so I can get more emails from Cordell. I like them.

He's awesome. Talking with him was one of the best parts of my visit. He does send regular waitlist emails, or at least he did last year.

I might have to do it - at least for a while. Today I learned some Shakespeare. Who knows what I might miss if I withdraw?

I surprisingly did not get a waitlist email today, although I did send an LOCI a couple weeks ago, maybe they finally believed me that I want to go to UVA. My method of not being annoyed at an even longer wait is telling myself that they are now holding out to offer me $$$.

or do it cause no one will care anyway. of course they know lots of the people they hold/WL will go to harvard, etc. that's literally the entire point of yield protection.

They are not holding out for anyone, it is just simple YP.

I'm still under review (1) as of 3/2 and I know I'm definitely not being held for YP purposes.... 0.o UVA got my feather's ruffled as I sit here waiting. In their defense though I did apply on 2/4

submitted early Jan, UR March 12, seemed to have survived the WL wave. But the wave seemed to be full of clearly YP candidates and my numbers aren't high enough for YP.

Anyone else passed over with average-ish stats for Virginia? Not YP or low? Maybe we still have a chance?

Sorry for the waitlists everyone. One thing that I will never understand is what makes the difference betwee "This person is too good, he/she won't come here, WL" and "This person is very good, we want them to come here for free"

He said, and in sure that he would say this to others too, he didn't want me to get discouraged and there wasn't anything wrong with my application. Is this serious? I've never heard of anything like this...a dean calling someone and telling them that no other offers are going to be made?
