Word probably true +/- 5% but I think it's safe to use 1200 as the denominator. More looking for the top part of that fraction.

Same here! I was super surprised to get the email a few minutes ago. Also went complete at the end of October and had resigned myself to being waitlisted or rejected since I hadn't heard anything!

This. I was freaking out cause last year's data suggested js1 chances 2 months after going complete were fairly low. I guess this is more proof that this cycle will be very unpredictable. Numbers are in profile, complete mid October.

Hey everyone - Just received an interview invite this morning. Looks like interviews are for first week of January, starting with January 6th. My application went complete second week of December.

ALSO - really elementary question but what does JS1 JS2 stand for? Thanks! And have a great holiday season

It's explained on the introductory post
xylocarp wrote:Guide to Acronyms

JS1: Invitation to interview with either Jessica Soban (Admissions Dean) or another interviewer. With very few exceptions, all admitted applicants have this interview before being admitted. It is conducted, again with few exceptions, over Skype. Interviews often last anywhere from 8 to 20 minutes.
More on the Skype Interview
JS1b: A phone call from Jessica Soban, generally later in the process, clarifying continued interest in attending Harvard Law. Often goes to people who have been held or waitlisted.
JSW: Being placed on the Harvard waitlist. This decision is communicated via email. This acronym was decided by the vote of last year's thread.
JS2: A call from Jessica Soban offering admittance to Harvard Law School.
LoCI: Letter of Continued Interest
And congrats!

I didn't see how many slots were up before the wave went out, but here's my best guess for the number of interviews given out so far.
  • Week 1 (11/3): 25
  • Week 2 (11/10): 27
  • Week 3 (11/17): 48
  • Week 4 (11/24): 10
  • Week 5 (12/1): 46
  • Week 6 (12/8): 23
  • Week 7 (12/15): 49
  • Week 8 (12/22): 0
  • Week 9 (12/29): 0
  • Week 10 (1/5): 20
Total = 248

They actually posted on twitter that they'd be closed today. Maybe the JS1s were automated? Or possibly there's a few people in the office... so, hard to say how long those people would stay today.
