I hope for his sake that his soft is being an URM. Otherwise no chance.Supremo Skelator wrote:Let's just say (hypothetically) that I have an OOS friend with a GPA well below the bottom 25%, an LSAT just below the 25%, and softs good enough to to prevent him from being an auto-reject.
If he is waitlisted, does he really stand any chance?
Is ED his only hope at UVA?

Look through the thread and LSN. Quite a few 167s and lower have gotten in through RDbarneytrouble wrote:I hope for his sake that his soft is being an URM. True. Missed that one. My bad. Yeah, need like a 3.9+ with a lower LSAT to have a chance.Tiago Splitter wrote:dolfan0516 wrote:

So, if a [one] is waitlisted when [one] expects to be rejected, what's he to think?
Do they really expect to admit him if the others withdraw?
Or are they politely suggesting to take the LSAT again, and then he'll be an admit?

Maybe? I'm pretty sure that if you write a Why UVA and ED you stand a good chance of getting in since I know they love that.Supremo Skelator wrote:Let's just say (hypothetically) that I have an OOS friend with a GPA well below the bottom 25%, an LSAT just below the 25%, and softs good enough to to prevent him from being an auto-reject.

I just got the "Call me at this number" email. Do we have to have something prepared? Like a Why UVA response??

Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Accepted today!! Got the "Please call me about your application email" from Dean Faulk earlier this afternoon. I applied RD in late October, so this is a surprise. I thought I was doomed because I hadn't heard for so long. Stats in post history.
I am OOS and didn't write a "Why UVA," so that should give some hope to those of you who are still waiting to hear something!! Good luck to all.

Haha thanks guys!!! A heck of a long time ago! I went complete on 9/20! And hadn't heard a word from them since. No Why UVA essay, however just today I sent an update to Mr. Faulk with what I've been doing since I sent my application in, and he responded right away asking me to call him. SO I can't emphasize enough how important it is to show your continued interest!!! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting, and don't be afraid to reach out to them!

This is good to hear, I may try doing just that. Although I've only been waiting with no word since the beginning of November. But big congrats, that's the best kind of hard decision to have to makeLaCumparsita wrote:Haha thanks guys!!! A heck of a long time ago! I went complete on 9/20!
