By the way. Nice name.
Can anyone PM me the admitted students logon? I left my packet at home, wont be able to get it for more than a week. Really want to get on their site. It was generic (If I recall) so its not like I'm going to be in anyones account or anything.

Congrats to you, Cupidity! I hope I will have the chance to make this decision as well.
I guess it's time for you to move from this thread to the official BU Class of 2013 thread, huh?

Ugh. Just called BU's Admission Office and my file is still under review after going complete on 10/6/09
. I'm a pretty hardcore splitter so the long wait was expected... but this is pretty nerve-wracking. I'm trying to be optimistic by telling myself that they must really like something about my file to be holding on to it this long.

Got an acceptance call today 166 3.7. Does anyone know if potential scholarship info comes in the mail? Emory gave me 72k today - do you guys think I can potentially use that to leverage some $$ from BU? Good luck to all

Very rarely does BU negotiate. I'd say that if you received a large scholly from BC, that may be useful. Otherwise, probably not.

(Cross-posting here for people who live in Boston.)
Right now I'm looking at similar scholarships from Emory and BU. I've noticed that Emory reports a COA much higher than BU. 197,136 compared to 171,702. Granted, tuition at Emory is ~2k more... but there is some other funny business going on. Can anyone from Atlanta or Boston comment on these figures?
Emory reports $17,748 ($1,972 per month) in Living Expenses.
BU reports $11,808 Room and Board + $2,990 Personal Expenses = $14,798
And BearTerritory -- BU offered me money with the acceptance offer and then upped the amount after I filed financial aid forms. Get those forms in.

Re: BU! woot.
boston COL is definitely higher unless you live with a few roommates. maybe bU was pretending thats what everyone will do? a studio around boston will run you at least 900, 1000 (more like 1000 or more in a nicer, cooler area). obviously if you can live with roommates, you can find something for 600, 700 for sure. but, if you live alone, 11808 is way off.John J. For God's sake, don't live by yourself. BU sends out a list of people who signed up looking for roomates. Easy way to get people with a similar lifestyle and will give you some easy friends.AlanShore wrote:boston COL is definitely higher unless you live with a few roommates. maybe bU was pretending thats what everyone will do? a studio around boston will run you at least 900, 1000 (more like 1000 or more in a nicer, cooler area). obviously if you can live with roommates, you can find something for 600, 700 for sure. but, if you live alone, 11808 is way off.John J. I'm still waiting to hear from BU too -- kind of puzzled why I haven't yet. I'd love to go there, and I think my numbers are okay for them - 165/3.9. I went complete 12/16. Maybe they haven't gotten around to ours?ryguy wrote:169/Dec 3.4x nada!!!rccohla wrote:I went complete in the beginning of Dec. with a 167/ ~3.8, haven't heard word one from them since.

there are people waiting over 4 months who haven't gotten a response. been only 2 months for you guys... so nothing strange imo unless you have auto-accept numbers...xokel87 wrote:I'm still waiting to hear from BU too -- kind of puzzled why I haven't yet. If I was waiting four months, I would've called by now to see what was up!
I'm a 1/6er and I hope to hear from them soon. And I hope that what I hear is GREAT news, not depressing news, lol.
