If it's a peer reviewed pub, I'd make a bigger deal of it than an updated resume. I'd send an updated resume, but explain in the e-mail you are updating due to your article having been accepted for publication in blah blah blah.

Eventually. Stanford takes its sweet time, which is fine, because it means they're really serious about making the right decisions. But it also means that some people wait for a really long time to hear answers. They have said that they expect to issue all decisions by 30 April. That you've been waiting so long at least indicates that you have a good shot of admission. Plenty of people from around your complete date have been rejected already.

for someone interested in ny big law, does it to any extent make sense to consider the west coast king over harvard?

I hear a fair bit about East Coast firms vying for token Stanford grads.

I was curious about this. I would imagine if you are under the top third of your class or so... it might be better for you to be at SLS than HLS... simply because you add some geo. diversity. I am curious if NYC firms ask "why are you applying here? Don't you want to work in CA?"

I've heard the same from a family friend, who's a V10 partner. He said they loved SLS grads, and made great effort to hire them; seems to bear out in stats for OCI: 60+ firms from NYC come recruit, and only 10-15% of the class heads to NYC (20-30 students).

You could send a 4th recommendation letter that is targeted to SLS. A friend of mine applied with 3 targeted letters and then, after a couple of months of no news, sent in a 4th letter (non-targeted) from a big wig in lieu of a LOCI. He was admitted a couple weeks later. Since you haven't gotten word in a few months and didn't send in any targeted letters, an additional targeted letter might be more valuable to you than an average SLS applicant.

she can call me at 3am for all i care, i just want to be one of the lucky ones to receive a call from "unknown number" and have it not be a telemarketer/creep

There was at least one other person on TLS who reported getting a call from (650), but the majority have been "Unknown" or "Private" number or whatever.

A friend and I were each called from a 650 number.
