Re: Columbia 2010
Deferred (not surprised). The letter says to send in updated transcripts if still in school. I am, but I'm finishing my MA, so I doubt it will help since it obviously won't affect my UG GPA.
Anyway, how do you guys think I should send the transcripts? Should my school send them to LSDAS or directly to Columbia?
BTW, best of luck to all remaining EDers!

In ED via e-mail at 4:30 or so this afternoon.
3.82, 171 after a Spring semester grade request. My cycle is over, good luck to everyone else!

V6 has now acquired the ability to finish my sentences. Hey V6 - send all that updated shit you've done recently to Stanford. They'll eat it up. Especially the publications.VoidSix wrote:I think he was pointing out that the "priceless" commercials are for MasterCard, not Visa (as was implied in the first post).swc65 wrote:crackberry wrote:Blatant anti-Mastercard trolling.swc65 wrote:176 3.5

Actually, no, spring. I was abroad in the spring and my grades weren't processed until after I sent in my transcripts to LSAC. I included a one-sentence addendum and Columbia e-mailed me two weeks or so ago asking for those.Kakarot wrote:You mean Fall semester right?alex1243 wrote:In ED via e-mail at 4:30 or so this afternoon.

So did we ever decide if RD decisions were going out aside from by status checker?

I don't think that CLS updates the status checker past "application complete."VoidSix wrote:So did we ever decide if RD decisions were going out aside from by status checker?

Status never updates past "complete" and RD decisions don't go out until late Jan at the earliest.VoidSix wrote:So did we ever decide if RD decisions were going out aside from by status checker?

Your status checker will show your decisions, but only if you're using Internet Explorer v2.4

Re: Columbia 2010
Hey all, submitted today and Columbia sent me an e-mail that they received my app. Any chance I hear back before Christmas? Sooooooooooooo nervous. 162/3.55, but I seriously have great softs. Not Peace Corps, TFA, or Military, but still awesome. And my mom really liked my PS, and she's a teacher. Chance me?
P.S. Is Columbia or NYU better? I definitely want to do BigLaw, but I also maybe want to do PI. IP is interesting, too. I'm also a big Al Gore fan, and I think being a sports agent is cool. Is New York too cold? How do they compare to Stanford? OMG SO EXCITED.

It's a "cardinal rule" of life that Stanford >>> the New York schools.dms87 wrote:Hey all, submitted today and Columbia sent me an e-mail that they received my app. Any chance I hear back before Christmas? Just kidding; it's my UG and I'm from California, so...
You won't hear back until at least February. CLS is a huge reach for you, since they're quite numbers-focused.

Yeah, in addition, Columbia announced via twitter that if you have GoogleChrome and hold CTRL+ALT+F8 you can see your decision via status checker.wackjickham wrote:Your status checker will show your decisions, but only if you're using Internet Explorer v2.4

Re: Columbia 2010
This just in from Columbia--RD decisions going out via carrier pigeons and fancy mice. Expect something in line with current migration patterns. Earliest would be late January, I'd imagine. People in Texas might not hear back until mid-June, early July.
International applicants may be in trouble. The fancy mice will be in way over their heads and I'm not sure the pigeons will survive the long journey. Luckily, you can check via status checker.

Hey I got a 3.5 GPA and 163 LSAT and got deferred. So I wouldn't say sarcasm or impossibility.=)lawschoolapp1 wrote:i am sensing sarcasmdms87 wrote:Hey all, submitted today and Columbia sent me an e-mail that they received my app. Any chance I hear back before Christmas? "al gore" kind of gave it away (if the whole first paragraph didn't).
I, for one, thought it was excellent sarcasm.

Those along the Columbian exchange (pun intended)/triangle trade route will be hearing first.puppins wrote:disagree; the fancy mice will most likely survive the long boat trip.VoidSix wrote:This just in from Columbia--RD decisions going out via carrier pigeons and fancy mice. [Insert URM joke here]
Edit: I also fell for the sarcasm above, until I clicked on the profile and saw the real #s.
