Right?! Such pretty stuff.
I've been tempted to wear the lanyard, even though I'm still waiting to hear back from 8 schools, including my initial top 3 choices...

Right?! The prestige whore in me wants to wear it so that people know I was smart enough to get into Duke. The dignity in me says not to do that

Give it to your mom. She can wear it around AND brag for you.
You kid, but my mom would jump at the chance to do just that...

Sounds like my MIL. She wanted the exact percentile of my LSAT score and wrote it down to tell everyone at work.
My mom wouldn't do that, but her overconfidence in me is inspiring. She bought me a law school sweatshirt and t-shirt to wear TO TAKE THE LSATS.

Aww, that's really cute. My mom wanted to tell everyone my score, too. I was like, "Mom, that's very nice, but your colleagues don't know anything about LSAT scoring."

That might be a tough thing to figure out. I think the spreadsheets might have that information but idk for sure if anyone has given specific enough stats to speculate on the PT invites. Check the spreadsheet thread though and it might have data.

Tried that. Neither do she nor her coworkers, hence why I was required to tell her the exact percentile.

Had my SO open the email with my LSAT score. She wanted to tell me the percentile, and I was like "nah. eff that. idc about the percentile. My life rides on the number. Tell me the number."

Believe it or not, I received the email during the day while I was at work, and let it sit in my inbox, unread, until I went to her place later in the evening. Wasn't until like 6:30/7 that it was opened.

This might be a stupid question and already answered but here goes:
I got accepted PT sometime in October. Is the scholarship application the same thing as financial aid information? If not, how do we get the scholarship application info?

"You will be officially admitted to Duke Law School when you complete the next step of our admission process – applying for financial aid and scholarship assistance...The Financial Aid Office will send you the scholarship application form via email in December"
For clarification about fin aid...You have to submit FAFSA and Need Access, which open January 1, for them to be able to consider your financials for aid. That is why the interviews aren't until Jan/Feb.

I guess to clarify I mean are only certain applicants eligible to apply for scholarships (based on merit)? Or will every accepted/ potential student receive an invitation to apply.
And do they define financial aid differently from scholarships?

Fair enough. Fin aid process always seemed so far away but I guess it will actually be upon us very soon.

Checking in as a long-time lurker! I read literally every post in this thread about three days after submitting, and then spent three days kicking myself for not thinking to put my geographical interest as NC. Currently stuck in non PT purgatory. Congrats to all the admits!

I wouldn't do that. Just check your status checker once every hour or two. It will says "Decision made: Watch for email" or something similar. Then you know it's on the way. On day 10, Duke has been notoriously sending decisions towards the end of the day (like 6pm), which means an email at 6:30/7.

Most comedy is based on a hint of truth. I'd lie if I said I didn't refresh my status checker all day, only to wait until later in the afternoon to receive the status update. Just wanting to save you (and all future applicants) from the bane that is the Duke status checker.

Really though. I get and understand why the PT program exists but when admissions gets described as rolling it kind of makes you feel like you aren't on as even of a playing field. Could just be me though. The process is already just stressful enough and then to see a lot of spots get filled up even though you applied early is a bit depressing. End of feelings vent.
