I think I took it to mean the initial review was just the first chapter leading up to the re-review and decisions for wait listed candidates. But I'm not going back to read it right now, so that might not make sense.
ETA: Idk what I could add/LOCI at this point, since I spelled it all out pre-decision and in the interview. Plus I'm not really in the mood after getting my hopes up and one foot in the water to deposit. I'll get over the frustration, but I'm not sure what good more info would do. They know what I'm about by now.

Urgh I still haven't heard anything since I went complete over 4 months ago. My numbers aren't YP-able or rejectable--on LSN my stats are in a forest of green acceptances--and I have decent softs. I wonder if my personal statement rubbed someone the wrong way, although I thought it was pretty benign.

The Tempest. I totally knew this! I was IN the Tempest! Still, bah humbug.
Ah, I'm an ignoramus when it comes to Shakespeare ... my worst Jeopardy category.

I feel like I was completely led on in my interview! My interviewer said that all they needed to move forward was an indication of my interest. I told them UVA was top 2 in addition to the fact that I spent almost $1,000 to visit them. Really turned off by UVA's way of handling this.

Waitlisted after ~3 months of silence, in the process of writing a withdrawal email right now. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Sorry everyone. If you're still really interested in UVA I'd pursue it and try and get money off the wait list

Is the rankings advantage of a high yield rate so great that they are willing to waitlist such high scoring applicants who have gone through such great lengths to demonstrate interest? Surely they are losing some great would-be enrollees due to this excessive practice. Maybe it even has negative net gain on Virginia's place in the rankings.
I feel for you, whoever you are. That would frustrate me to no end.

That is pretty crazy, assuming you don't have major C&F issues. See above for my recommended response.

Thanks, it definitely has been frustrating. A Dillard or similar scholarship would have been a real contender a few months ago, but at this point I can't afford to ride out the waitlist and wait for money when other schools have scholarship deadlines :/
I have other good options though, so things will turn out fine.

Technically speaking, AFAIK you can always ride the waitlist because you are only required to withdraw acceptances if you accept a scholarship/enroll at a school. You don't have to withdraw from waitlists. Seems unlikely but not impossible that a school could call a waitlisted person and offer them cash if too many scholarship recipients turn them down.

139 days after complete, it's a waitlist as expected.
LSAT > 75; GPA > 50. Wrote Why UVA.
Will likely just withdraw!

He's awesome. Talking with him was one of the best parts of my visit. He does send regular waitlist emails, or at least he did last year.
