Asha and Craig, I know it's getting late but I'll be up for a while, so feel free to give me a call at any point. Also, BOM doesn't sleep so you can call him/her at any time too.

Maybe they really are serious about it not mattering when you apply. a lot of the recent admits seem to have been february apps. I was always too suspicious...

Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Is it just me or has Yale not dinged a lot of people thus far. To me, it seems like they're waiting to make a majority of their decisions at the same time towards the end of the cycle. I thought with such a low acceptance rate and such a high admissions standards when it comes to numbers and softs, most people would get rejected almost immediately save for the select few competitive applicants. Or have I just not been following Yale closely enough to notice all the rejections...

Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
There's only been one real ding wave on here so far, so it seems like they haven't rejected a lot of people. However, it was a massive wave and it was a few days before the deadline, meaning that many people hadn't applied.
Late applications are particularly common for Yale and I think we'll probably see the dings pick up soon as they've looked at more of those files and FR ends.

Last year, there was a second big rejection wave at the beginning of April. My guess is if there isn't a wave today, early next week we'll see a lot of rejections come out.milkandcheerios wrote:Is it just me or has Yale not dinged a lot of people thus far. I keep looking overhead (at my inbox) for the guillotine to fall. I submitted in NOVEMBER. been under this sword of Yalocles for almost five months! It accompanies me through every scholarship application, every interview, every admitted students weekend... THIS IS CRUEL AND UNUSUAL, AND ALSO ARBITRARY AND CAPRICIOUS, AND ALSO SOME OTHER DYNAMIC DUO OF LEGAL JARGON CONNOTING THE SUFFERING THEY ARE SUBJECTING ME TO

Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Anybody hazard a guess on what percentage of the class they will have filled by the end of this week? 80%? 100%?! Anyone hope for acceptances next week, or from now on it is rejects and wait lists?
looks like the big acceptance wave last year was 04/10 and then all no's and WLs.

Indeed, Vursz has some of the most glorious softs I have ever seen. I might as well have spent my life in a cave by comparison. Though that might have made for a nice PS.wtrc wrote:Your softs...Vursz wrote:Accepted this morning. September submit, stats in LSN in profile.
