With at/below median I'd think you're at least in position for reserve. Any reason why they'd attend to you first? Perhaps there's a strategy where they toss the 75ths people aside for now?yossarian71 wrote:Might be good for you. I'm at/below both medians and I moved from 1/29 to 2/12 this week. 1/19 -> 1/31 -> 2/14. approx. 75ths. "or sooner" is back.

Interesting to hear about the "or sooner" popping back up for folks. My last update remains 2/12, and "or sooner" is still absent. I wonder if those who had the reappearing words will be getting some kind of decision sooner than the rest of us who had it disappear and stay gone?

Yeah, mine has never disappeared, but I'd be willing to bet it's a glitch much more readily than that there's a rotating, two word personal message tied to one's pile/likely outcome.

I would say I have upper end softs... Maybe what you would call borderline for Harvard/above average for the lower t14... but that is the only reason they would pull mine out. No URM, low #s.Otunga wrote:With at/below median I'd think you're at least in position for reserve. Any reason why they'd attend to you first? URM decisions seem to be a bit off the grid.

Doesn't seem like a glitch at all when you actually see it on your screen. It's not like the back half of the sentence just vanished; there is a clear, very real, not-at-all imagined period after the words "mid-to-late April". Why would 2 words mysteriously vanish from some of our profiles, yet the syntax remains perfectly intact while the meaning shifts accordingly to suggest that some of us may be in a different round of considerations? It's easier to believe in an intentional change than a magically intelligent glitch, but to each his own.Bajam wrote:I think you guys are reading way too much into the message at the top....lol. Re: Cornell c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
If the message changed from year-to-year, that's likely how a glitch that sometimes loads the old message and sometimes the new would display. "By mid-late April" already implies "or sooner" as a possibility in my mind, so I just don't see the logic in bothering to make a meaningful distinction based on which pile we're in, but I suppose we'll never really know. Still, I'm firmly convinced that it's a completely meaningless error and would not try to divine a thing from it. I feel silly for even continuing to post about itGlasseyes wrote:Doesn't seem like a glitch at all when you actually see it on your screen. Submitted 1/24, Verifying materials for completion since 1/28. I never had the "mid-to-late April" language.

Just went complete. That "What to Expect When You're Expecting" thread wasn't kidding how long it takes Cornell to go complete.
