It's more highly regarded than the Pitt Law Review. I read it daily.HeavenWood wrote:You read the Beaver County Times?Bedsole wrote: Unfortunately, they no longer exist.

Also I have a question for those current students lurking around.
Ive heard that its possible to have your COL loan number increased in order to make room for a laptop. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

My thoughts exactly. Not because Duquesne is bad but because I wanted Pitt because it was different and seemed to fit my interests more so have worked hard for it. I have gone to Duquesne for UG and a paralegal certificate, I need a change. Pitt is awesome though and that is the biggest reason!bport hopeful wrote:Congrats. Really happy for you. I did that. I think you're limited to $3,000 over your educational career. Email Meme and she'll let you know what to do. If I remember correctly, you have to buy the computer first and then give them a copy of the receipt.bport hopeful wrote:Also I have a question for those current students lurking around.

Ive been trying to rationalize two things for the last hour or two.
A.) going to Pitt with no money when I have money on the table everywhere else
B.) why they didnt offer me anything
Havent be able to do either. In the greif phases, im moving quickly on to rage.

They're out of scholarship money. It sucks, but as more students get wise to scholarship negotiation tactics, people accepted late are going to get the short end of the stick.bport hopeful wrote:Ive been trying to rationalize two things for the last hour or two.

Email them with your other offers - The deadline is tomorrow so they'll likely have some scholarship withdrawals. Hell, call 'em tomorrow and explain your situation. Get the body paint and the Panther. Offer yourself to Dean Crossley (sp?).bport hopeful wrote:Ive been trying to rationalize two things for the last hour or two.

Re: Pittsburgh 2011
northwood and Barbell - Thanks so much for the congrats! I am very excited.
Barbell - I will e-mail you on here when I do get my class schedule. I am a Flex-Time student, but I hope they still stick me in a section for the most part. Oh, also, once I got the nerve up and got over myself, I listened to you. I called them last Friday and sent them a LOCI on Monday (even though I wasn't waitlisted). They had told me they were trying to decide everyone's fate by the 15th, but I think being proactive definitely helped.
In any case, I am so happy and if anyone wants to meet up during orientation or over the summer, I will be here in Pittsburgh!
One other thing - how much is the deposit and is there just one or are there two (I know some schools have a first and second deposit)? I am definitely waiting for my letter before I walk up to Pitt and give it to them, but just wondering what it is for general purposes.
bport - I am sure you can negotiate something. I hope you do decide to attend.

The first seat deposit is $200 ( which is due tomorrow, or whenever they let you know). The second deposit is $500 and wont be due until june. They will mail out a form for you to put the money in sometime after the first deposit deadline.HOPEFORCHANGE wrote:northwood and Barbell - Thanks so much for the congrats! I am very excited.
