Dear Josh,

I am very sympathetic to your situation. I know it is hard - especially when you have a child involved in the decision, too.

We are currently reviewing deposits received by early admits so that we can determine how many other seats to offer in the full-time and part-time programs. We hope to make some offers in the next week, but all should go out by the end of April. I am sorry that I don't have anything more concrete to tell you at this time.

If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.

Thanks,

Virginia M. Keehan, J.D.
Assistant Dean for Admissions
If they are still on this schedule, tomorrow would be a week since 4/8...so maybe some decisions tomorrow and calls Friday? One can only hope....

Sorry, but I don't think a visit will help. Re-taking and scoring higher on the LSAT would, especially given that nice GPA.
Thanks, I'm sending another LOCI today hoping that it might help. This is my second time applying and I have made it pretty clear that they remain my #1 choice. *Crossing fingers*

If that visit includes making a $100,000 contribution to the law school, then yes, it will help. :D

I made a 78k contribution to the business school and it hasn't helped!

(they did give me a fancy piece of paper in return though)

SMU came out with the Fall '10 schedule for 1Ls. I've summarized Sections 1 and 2 neatly below:

God, that schedule reminds me why I'm so ready to be in school again. Am I a nerd or what.

I like the late Monday start of section 1, but the legal writing by itself in the afternoon for section 2 is nice too ...

Rachel, I remember you from last cycle. I can tell how much you want to go to SMU in the fall. I'm pulling for you, and you hope you hear something positive soon. Keep the faith.

Here is the part time/evening schedule. Looks like just one section of us except for legal writing which is divided into 4.

Edit: I fail at image tags... fixed

One additional bit of info about the schedule for evening. If you get the early legal writing class in the fall, you'll be in the late one in the spring... so it will all even out.

Who thinks applications are going to be updated tomorrow?

I have a sneaking suspicion that they just might

Thanks for the schedules. With the hour change (I'm east coast), looks like I'm gonna miss a good bit of Monday Night Football!

Good to see SMU move up one in the rankings. I like how it's tied with UMD (home state) and Tulane (my other top choice). Pony up!

Biggest regret of cycle: Not applying earlier to SMU.

Every time I think about depositing elsewhere, each time I look at those deposit forms for other schools ... hands shake. Someone is trying to tell me something.

Wow seeing a class schedule makes it all seem very real. I'm excited it's only a little more than 4 months away.

FYI—Having Rogers teach contracts to you guys is a huge win. Absolutely great prof!
Agreed. I got to sit in on his contracts class during my visit last year. I had no idea what the hell was going on, but he seemed like a really nice guy.

Out of curiosity, what are the deposit amounts for SMU?

Also, @Thirteen: Thanks for your encouragement.

$200 was due by April 1, and the second deposit of $200 is due by June 1. Funky, I can tell that you'd be a good addition to the class, and someone that would be cool to hang with for 3 years. If you are an OU fan, disregard the second part of my statement, haha.
