NYU is my top choice, and since I am above both 75ths (3.9+, 172) I figured I would have a decent chance at a substantial scholarship (50%, I was hoping). However, after finishing up all my apps tonight, I decided to take a look at lsn and check out how NYU applicants faired with my numbers last year. Albeit a small sample size, it appears that people with my numbers very rarely get above 75k, with 30k-50k being the most common. Is this consistent with how NYU doles out merit-based aid or just an unrepresentative sample size? Can I really only expect 30k-50k of assistance in addition to NYC cost of living??? If so, this really dashes my hopes of going to NYU. I just don't think I could justify that much debt. Hope I am reading into this wrong.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the help.
From what I've read, they're pretty stingy unless you get one of the named scholarships.
Thanks for the response.

Darn. This is especially frustrating for some who really wants to go to NYU, yet is not a good fit for any of the named scholarships.

FWIW I got $105,000 based on numbers alone. Still absurdly expensive to go here.

From the school's 509, 11.7% of students get over a half ride, with most of those (8%) being full-ride (which would be a lot of named scholarships).

Tried looking through the thread for some insight on this but didn't find anything...
173 LSAT (3rd take), 3.78 GPA. Completed on 1/4, UR1 1/5, UR2 1/11. Is this going ridiculously fast? Is this a good sign?

Similar numbers, very similar timeline. I get the sense that they move quickly.

Slightly worse numbers but exact same timeline. Hope it's a good sign!

Has anyone else had issues with getting a complete email / email with info to access the status tracker ? my application was transmitted by the LSAC on Dec. 18th and the CAS report was sent on Dec. 21st. There were no missing materials, and I've received emails notifying me of receiving applications from all the other schools I applied to during this time period. Does anyone know what's up? / who I should contact about this?

Just go to the status checker and hit "forgot password". Enter your username and whatever answer you want and theyll email you a temp password. No biggie

NYU is the only status checker that is blocked at my work. Anyone else have this problem?

Just went DLS too. How long does the letter take to arrive? Is it more likely that I will receive a call or e-mail before the letter gets here?

Any other mid December UR2s here?
12/1 UR2. Odds are we will be waitlisted

Not a mid-December UR2, but I believe I've been at UR1 since 11/29. Not looking good lol

UR2 12/7 splitter life means we usually have to wait until the end of the cycle to hear I think :?

Ur2 12/7 at this point I feel like being waitlisted is even worse than rejected. Just want to know already

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
