I was admitted early March and I have to the pay initial deposit by April, but I can't seem to find how.
Status check says Payments can be made on the Iowa Student Information Services (ISIS) website at https://login.uiowa.edu/uip/login.page? ... .edu/isis/.
But when I logged on ISIS using my hawk id and pw, it does not show how to pay the deposit.

It is really urgent I pay the deposit by tomorrow, so anyone who paid the deposit please help me out with detailed explnaiton.(hopefully soon)

1. Go to ISIS
2. Log in
3. Click "Admissions Profile" on the right
4. Click the first link under "Pay the $250.00 Advance Payment (1st deposit), due April 1, 2012, online."
5. Complete the credit card payment
6. ?????
7. Profit!

I hope you see this in time.

Thanks a lot.
I just received an email from Admissions Office replying to my question (I was pleasantly surprised to hear back so soon at this time of day), and it turned out they apply a different procedure to international applicants. I am so relieved now. I just wish they had told me sooner.

Does anyones ISIS actually change to reflect their 'acceptance' or 'denial' of admission? I've accepted the admission offer and paid the advance payment, but when I log in and look at my student admissions profile, it still says 'accept or decline our admission offer online.'

I want it to say 'admission offer accepted.'

What are people's thoughts on attending Iowa without scholarship money?

What are your other options? Is law school something you're 100% set on, or are you just considering it?

I've pretty much dismissed Iowa. I was just curious. I noticed in another thread people were urging a person to go to Iowa if they could get off the WL. I have a 3/4 scholarship and MSU as well as Drake. It's a toss-up. I like both clinical programs and Drake places well in Des Moines.

If you want to be in Des Moines, Drake on a 3/4 ride is probably a better bet than paying full in-state at Iowa.

I am on the "preliminary waitlist". I will be going to Iowa if I accepted.

Also, do any of you think it will make a difference if I schedule a visit? I live in Iowa city so it would be relatively easy for me.

Thanks, Jake

Status check reads "preliminary waitlist"...... huh. I was expecting auto-admit. I've read through other posts and it seems that Iowa puts people on the prelim if have no idea what to do with them...? Am I that weird?

There is only one waitlist you can be put on, correct? Or am I missing something with this 'preliminary waitlist'?

Just received email asking for additional LOCI if I wanted to be moved to the official waitlist.

Was on the "preliminary" waitlist, and as of this morning I have been banished to the "official" waitlist. The way they describe it in the email, it sounds like where applications go to die.

True story. I languished on the "Preliminary Waitlist" from February to May last cycle and on the "Waitlist" from May to July when I was offically dumped.

I wonder if we received different e-mails. Mine includes the line "Although being placed on the waitlist is no guarantee of admission, in past years several applicants on the waitlist have eventually been offered admission."

Obviously there is still the possibility that no spots will open up at all and everyone on the waitlist will be rejected, but this e-mail was way more optimistic than I expected.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
