TBH, the whole hold thing is a scam. All they really told us is that it will take more time. Other than receiving an email to feed our neuroses, nothing is different, haha.

You don't have to worry about being rejected for another 3 months. You also don't have to hold false hope for another 3 months. May make your decision making process a lot easier BTW.

Some people get pulled off the hold list to get dinged or JR1ed/JR2ed before April. Just keeping the fear alive and all of that.

~~Why another 3 months? According to JR's post in the OP they started looking back through the held candidates around mid-February...do none of them hear back at all until at least April?~~

I have not really researched this, but do holds definitely not receive any more decisions for 3 months? I thought that we could get a decisions any time between now and April.

I skimmed through the Held @ Harvard 2010 thread. A handful got in throughout the Spring with no pattern.

Held as well. UR since 11/15 and no JR1.

It was actually nice to hear something from Harvard.

This probably sounds douchey, but in light of my other acceptances, I just can't figure it out. I'll wait till February and probably withdraw if I don't hear any more.
