But do we feel more strongly about her than the LSAC woman? I took the LSAT twice, so between that and my 13 applications to schools, she tormented me for damn near a year. After a while I felt like she was seriously judging me.![]()

Oooh, I like that theory, Mac!
I figured it's because she's so much smarter than me that her giant brain takes over her whole head. She would have gotten a 180 in her sleep. "Oh heyyyy Lawst! Are you signing up for the LSAT again, in December? What happened in October? Don't worry! You can always go to dental school!"

My application just went complete from 2/2 to 3/17. No word as to whether they are thinking about reviewing it but I think I made up my mind to pop by the admissions office tomorrow to hand deliver a copy of my loci. If I went today I'd be rejected flat out because I'm hungover as shit and look like I crawled out of a dumpster.

My 1/28 Complete also just went 3/17. Definitely not what I was anticipating...adevotchka wrote:My application just went complete from 2/2 to 3/17. So I'm curious if the room and board fees on the Fordham COA list reflects a dorming situation or what?
$1,600 a month for 9 months (dorming with roommates) vs ~$900 a month (off-campus apartment with roommates). So which number does the room and board amount reflect?

Just updated to my third complete date. Does this mean I'm going to get a decision soon? Fordham is super high on my list and this is kind of killing me.

Re: Fordham 2011
What's with the pricey Travel? I'd say $1,000 on metrocards (for the entire YEAR)JD Division Full-time Enrollment
Tuition -----------------------------45,850
Fees --------------------------------626
Room & Board ----------------------18,100
Books & Supplies -------------------1,664
Travel -----------------------------1,546
Miscellaneous Personal Expenses-----3,782
TOTAL -----------------------------71,568
I'm gonna guess that the Miscellaneous expenses is less than what will probably be needed.
Also, where does FOOD come into this equation??

Re: Fordham 2011
Why being at the top of the class is so important (apart from the obvious):
The Admissions Office invites applicants to apply for the Francis J. Mulderig National Scholars award and for the Paul R. Brenner Scholarship. Only a few of these full-tuition scholarships are awarded each year. Students from across the country will be selected for their outstanding academic credentials and their demonstrated potential to be leaders in the legal profession and in their communities. In addition, The Schaffhauser Family Scholarship is awarded by the Admissions Office. This partial-tuition scholarship is renewable each year provided the recipient remains in good academic standing.
Merit scholarships also are awarded to students (day and evening) who achieve the highest GPA's in their first year at the Law School. These Wilkinson Scholarships are awarded by the Dean of the Law School in June each year.

No way - you can find much cheaper options even on the UWS. If you really want to save some money, though, look at Washington Heights/Inwood and to some extent Harlem, though that's been getting more expensive. If you're along the A train, you can get to Columbus Circle, around the corner from Fordham, in no time at all.Stringer6 wrote:insane if it's just for 9 monthsyeah ... i think it's for 9 months. that's like 2k+ a month for living. that's ridiculous!!!

I lived in Harlem when I was at Columbia and it was wonderful. As a city, Harlem has a wonderful rhythm, and financially, it is much more cost effective than midtown.Lawst wrote:No way - you can find much cheaper options even on the UWS. Harlem is basically fine. But NO WAY am I ever going up to Inwood/Wash heights. No no no.
Also, when you find a cheap apartment, check with the NYS Department to see if there are any violations for the address.

Eh, whatever you think is best for you. I lived on the Upper West Side for 10 years and I just moved to Inwood to prepare for my more frugal student lifestyle. My commute to 34th Street for work is about maybe 10 minutes more, but I pay about $400 less in rent for more space.Gemini wrote:Harlem is basically fine. The problem with West Harlem these days is that its not much cheaper than other areas of the city epecially around Columbia area...You will not find cheap housing until you get up to inwood/wash heights. Even that is starting to be gentrified by those damn hipsters who have ruined lots of areas in nyc.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
