Status just updated to Decision Rendered 4/13.
App Completed 1/16

Hoping for good news because SMU is one of my top two choices. I could also use the good news since I am in the hospital recovering from surgery at the moment!

Anybody think SMU moves up or down in the rankings this year? I'd like to think the strong class of 2009 employment numbers bump it into the 30s but I dont think we'll see anything more than +/- 2. Predictions?

I dont see it ever getting into the 30s until it can place in more than one city (albeit it places very well in said city).

Help! Application completed on 1/27. Am I in trouble or is this a good sign? FT/PT.
I know someone who got in May 10 last year...

Also, I've got big schollys to south texas and st. mary's. Anyone know which one is better or anything?

What are your numbers? 1/27 is definitely not too late. A lot of us with complete dates around that time have yet to hear back.

From the things she said to me, not having an acceptance at this moment is not a death sentence by any means
I'm complete 3/10. I'm probably going to here from SMU in July at this rate.

I'm between UH and SMU.

SMU has the advantage imo in almost every aspect i can think of, although not by leaps and bounds. And UH's administration is definitely rubbing me the wrong way.

No new info here, but it's from the horse's mouth at least:

Dear Josh,

I am very sympathetic to your situation. I know it is hard - especially when you have a child involved in the decision, too.

We are currently reviewing deposits received by early admits so that we can determine how many other seats to offer in the full-time and part-time programs. We hope to make some offers in the next week, but all should go out by the end of April. I am sorry that I don't have anything more concrete to tell you at this time.

If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.

Thanks,

Virginia M. Keehan, J.D.

Great to know, thank you!....Has anyone talked to the admissions office or heard if they have received a high, low or average number of seat deposits back?

At this point in the cycle, is it worth it to make a trip to Dallas to visit SMU? I visited last year when I was on the wait list so I don't know if trip up would be beneficial at this point.

Sorry, but I don't think a visit will help. Re-taking and scoring higher on the LSAT would, especially given that nice GPA.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
