It's true. Everytime I see the little e-mail symbol pop up, my heart jumps. Eventually, I've gotten really bitter at my professors/school/other law schools e-mailing me and contributing to my disappointment. It will all be okay if I see an email from Harvard.
just wait until you're waiting for a JR2 and you start to hate your friends and family when they call you and it's them instead of harvard.
there's a solution to this, though. if you've got a phone that allows you to assign ringtones to individual numbers, program JR's number into your phone, then proceed to customize. something heavenly like "hallelujah" probably would be appropriate

Indeed. I just had my JR1 and I am already ready to commit warcrimes every time someone who isn't Harvard calls...

Just got my JR1 email. Phone interview next Tuesday. I submitted 11/13 and went under review 11/23. My numbers are 176 / 4.0. Good luck to everyone.

Looks like only people UR 11/23 are getting JR1s today. If anybody not UR 11/23 gets a JR1 pelase post it.
Otherwise I can be found sadly walking in other 2010 threads.

It seems to be that they've jumped ahead with this UR 11/23 crowd---there are still more than a few peeps with great numbers from a week or two before that

I was left out of the 11/23 group. Hoping I can be in the next.
that's pretty unusual...
In the "wow I'm not sure why you were left out" sense or the "seriously, why are you holding your breath" sense?
your gpa is above the 75th and lsat at median... seems like a decent candidate imo.
perhaps they look for strong softs/ps in the early round as well.

Thanks!
Yes. That's not unusual at all. A lot of people go Received - UR - JR1 - Complete. The timeline varies depending on when you submitted. The later you submit the longer it takes because there's more applications, I believe.

Application received on 11/10 (application sent by LSDAS 11/20). Status checker still says "application received" - hasn't changed to "under review". Should I email to see if everything is in order? It seems like other people who submitted on the same day have gone under review over a week ago.

I just went Under Review, and I never received a complete email (although I submitted in mid-November, long enough for them to have it). What's the deal here? Also how long has it taken people who submitted/went complete and/or under review in November to get JR1s?

An email wouldn't hurt. I submitted 11/15 and went under review yesterday. Maybe they're missing a document.

Hi all -
Quick question - are e-mails about JR1s typically pretty spread out? I got my complete e-mail today and see that others who also got theirs today also got JR1 e-mails. Wondering if I should worry yet...
I haven't been following too closely, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Yeah seriously! I think I was UR 11/12 (based on the date in the status checker), but I didn't go complete until last week. So I'm not sure which base my anxiety on.... haha

thats just it, decent. i wouldnt say its unusual. not getting a JR1 = expected, but getting a JR1 = expected as well, in a sense.

Anyone else still under review since 11/3? I'm starting to lose hope and expect the rejection letter to come in shortly.

I'm thinking only the best applicants (or maybe the most unusual? or a mix of both?) get in on the first go around of JR1s and it goes by UR order (I'm guessing we're up to 11/23 judging by evidence in this thread)
After that, he goes back and looks and the applications again and then sends out some more JR1s out of all the ones who didn't get it the first go around. Like on the admissions blog he calls at "a bite at the apple"
So, if you don't have a JR1 by now and you're before the 11/23 UR.. it's not that bad. It's definitely not good, but it's not the end of the world (or your Harvard cycle)
These are just my guesses.
