It actually doesn't sting as much as I thought it would lol.
Chukes, am I gonna see you at USC?
Most definitely my friend. Now I'm only waiting on Northwestern, UCLA, Stanford, and Boston U. Most likely chance is NU, BU, and UCLA and I would just use those to up my scholarship lol.
We are in similar situations. WL'd by NU and UCLA. At this point my hopes aren't too high for positive outcomes there soooo looking like USC for me.
But, in the meantime, good luck with those other schools.

And congrats to all you bitches that got in today.

In via status checker! I don't have a high GPA so this is really good news.

168/3.65. But what I think really answers your question is that I have TFA + 2.5 years CA public sector legal employment

Haha I'm a generally pessimistic person. Also, lower expectations just means more happiness when I am pleasantly surprised LOL

Waitlisted. Not completely surprised but very disappointed. Visited this campus this weekend and fell in love when previously I knew very little about the school and didn't know if it would be for me.

Does anyone know anything about the success of staying on the waitlist at Berkeley? This is one of the only ones I would consider sitting on.

If it's a huge long shot and they normally don't admit many.. that's something I would be curious to know.

Does anyone know how many people they accept off the waitlist every year?

To those asking about waitlist odds, check this thread (a few years old but likely still useful):

http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... p?t=225363

You could also check LSN for the past couple cycles. Looks like pretty good chances compared to the rest of the T14, at least.

By straight reject do you mean you were rejected without being FR?

Congratulations to everybody who got in today - you all surely deserved it!

I just took a look at the new data points from those who have updated their results on LSN. Granted, the sample size isn't very large (7 people) and I'm sure this will change after more people input their data, but it's interesting to note that all the 170+ scorers so far in this round of FR were either waitlisted or rejected.

Could be the 170+ scorers had weaker softs to be placed in FR in the first place and that the faculty are instructed to focus more on softs and less on the numbers.

Could be - dunno know what Berk is looking for in general, and if there's any sort of mentality shift once apps are passed on to FR. Would be cool to see more definitive data on this.

For Berkeley, GPA tells you more than LSAT.

is a 3.8+ not good enough for them?

So sorry for all that got dinged today:((( I know how incredibly painful and stressful this process is.

168 LSAT and 3.45 gpa, but Ivy, URM, speak 3 languages, unique major that's public interest/law related and 2 minors one of which is a law minor (idk how much that played in but :| ), and Cali resident. Also currently doing a service year/nonprofit program within Cali. There are some law schools that provide fee waivers to program participants, Berk being one of them, and I'm assuming they looked favorably on that (and it's also what I wrote my PS on). I'm still in shock that I got in. I believe that the majority of applicants are very well deserving and still feel that berk law admissions is a total enigma.

Actually I don't think that's my case. My GPA is 3.6X but my LSAT is decent (170). Very average softs as well. It's a pleasant surprise but I have to admit I have no clue why Berkeley wants me.

I just called the Financial Aid office to ask when admitted students should receive scholarship info, and the person said the first round of offers should go out this weekend (specifically Friday or Saturday). Hopefully this is correct! Just figured I'd let everybody here know since this forum has been a good source of info for me in the past.
