You and I have very similar softs and stats. Hopefully, I'll hear something soon. :/ When did you go complete/submit?Dee32 wrote:In today via status checker (and envelope to my apartment). 3.7/167. 2 years WE, some decent to good softs (publications in undergrad journals, honors thesis award, community service, first in family to go to college).
Submit and complete date?Dee32 wrote:In today via status checker (and envelope to my apartment). 3.7/167. 2 years WE, some decent to good softs (publications in undergrad journals, honors thesis award, community service, first in family to go to college).
Congrats!!Dee32 wrote:Unfortunately I don't have dates as I hardly checked my status checker. Submitted early January (like first week), went complete after about a week, then heard back today. So I'd say about 2 weeks between complete and decision, which seems really quick.

Did you get your envelope today? If so, you've probably had a decision for at least a few days, as the status checker generally has the decision before the envelope is postmarked. Either way, though, that's darn quick!
Did you write a "Why Michigan?"Dee32 wrote:alex.cm wrote:Congrats!!Dee32 wrote:Unfortunately I don't have dates as I hardly checked my status checker. Yep -- just got my envelope today.
Kind of funny, actually. I got an email from my apartment building saying I had an envelope from UM admissions. To me, this meant the envelope didn't fit in my mailbox, so I thought that was a good sign. I was a bit nervous to check the status checker but did anyway and found out the good news. I thought I checked it on Thurs or Fri of last week and it still just said "Complete." Maybe not, though. I've been trying not to check those things all of the time for the sake of my sanity...

Do you live in the Lawyers Club? If so (or if you have other knowledge of it), what's it like?NavyOfficer23 wrote:Hey all, Michigan Law 1L here. Happy to answer any questions you have.
I do not. I am married and live off-campus. It was just remodeled and it is gorgeous. Over half the 1Ls live there, and they all really like it. Everybody has their own individual bathroom (no walking down the hall in flip-flops carrying your shower caddy). It's also super convenient being no more that 3 minutes from your room to class. You also don't have to go outside much at all in the winter.gta wrote:Do you live in the Lawyers Club? If so (or if you have other knowledge of it), what's it like?
Are summer starters starting to get burned out? Are they really one big clique?NavyOfficer23 wrote:Hey all, Michigan Law 1L here. Happy to answer any questions you have.

I would say you should be very prepared to answer this one... and it shouldn't be that hard to work out. same as any other school - pick out a few academic points in which you would genuinely be interested, find one or 2 points about the atmosphere/town/student body/campus/whatever, and if there's an obvious reason on your app that would pull you away from deciding on michigan, a line about why that doesn't matter or is negated. Boom, done.rseaney wrote:apologies if this is the wrong thread for this q, but does anyone have any idea what to expect in a darrow interview?
i'm woefully unprepared to respond to "why Michigan" haha
No, not that burnt out from the ones that I know. Especially because this semester starts the electives that people can take, so there's a bit of a motivation renewal now that people get to take some of the classes that are more about the practice areas they like.logical seasoning wrote:Are summer starters starting to get burned out? Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.
