Did anyone's status checker change yet? I haven't gotten an email, but I also didn't get the Chicago email, so who knows what else I'm missing.

Mine changed very shortly after I got the email.

+1. I applied in late Oct and have heard nothing from UVA since then. Although I'm not expecting good news at this point, I think some people who applied around when I did have been getting in recently. So I guess all hope isn't lost...

I applied 10/25 and got in on Monday. Super-duper splitter, too. I wouldn't be surprised if my GPA is the one of the lowest they (or any other T14 that accepts me) takes this cycle. So there is definitely still hope for those waiting to hear!

Thank you so much! Here's my (inexact) info: LSAT > 178 (taken once), GPA < 3.1 (medical condition addendum; my last two years of college I had close to a 4.0). Strong work experience in politics, government, & public interest. Wrote at Why UVA and had a strong, UVA-specific LOR from a UVA alum.

Submitted a month after you, but I'm feeling the same. I am glad that I have avoided the two mass waitlist emails, but really don't want to be in a mass rejection.

Would it be appropriate to email them letting them know that I am still extremely interested & that I have submitted an updated transcript to LSAC?

I would let them know about the transcript. I e-mailed all my schools and several responded thanking me for the update. Anyway, it can't hurt and it puts you back on their radar in case they somehow lost your file or something!

And I also got the waitlist email today. I thought a 170 and a 3.74 might be enough, but apparently not...

What with all the waitlists, I would imagine at this point in the cycle the best way to get off is to ED. I thought I read somewhere in the waitlist FAQ that if UVA is your first choice, let them know. That is probably what they are looking for especially from those with numbers well above medians, since they are anticipating you getting into other peer schools if you have not already.

So, depending on how your cycle is going, that might be the best option if you really want UVA.
