Gotcha. Guess the reason I'm so bummed is that I went in thinking too much about the great stats for KB1's, especially this early. Honestly, I'm lucky to have had it at all, and if I get shut out of my #1 because of some b's, nothing I can do about it aside from an impassioned LOCIsoj wrote:Even if it dropped, it wouldn't hurt the median since you were already below the median. Not sure what vincanity1's GPA is, but if it's close to 3.80, it's definitely below HLS's target GPA median (even if HLS is resigned to a decrease in GPA median), but close enough that an awesome 4.00-4.33 term just might push him above the target median.addy11 wrote:Unless they're planning for a GPA median drop.soj wrote:Even if it dropped, it wouldn't hurt the median since you were already below the median. That said, vincanity1 is a good guy. I hope your assessment is right.
vincanity1: I see how my post is confusing. I meant it could only help for HLS, not you. I'm not really sure about what changes in your GPA could mean for you, but it's still a very good sign that you got a KB1!

Ahh, that makes sense soj. Finally understand you meant it in terms of their benefit rather than mine. I'd say that's definitely the most optimistic way to view it, but I'll try to adopt it nonetheless.

Looks like KB is an 'acting' Admissions Dean, just as she was during the transition between TS and JR.
HLS is looking for a full-time Admissions Dean.
Anyone know if KB is an HLS JD grad? She's been @ HLS Admissions for over 10+ years! Apparently, HLS is only considering HLS JD grads with experience.

The "hero" label is probably a little overdone, but a sincere thank you in any case, because it sure is nice to be appreciated. Especially so because there's no shortage of Americans who would tend to view the IDF's work (and Israel at large) in decidedly less savory terms. But that's a can of worms that shouldn't be approached in this thread, so I'll leave it at a warm "thank you."seanPtheB wrote:you not getting a kb1 absolutely boggles my mind. Still no KB1 here, by the way. Other Sept. KB1-less submitters, looks like we're in for the long haul. Personally, I won't be letting go of the dream until the day they drop me from the waitlist.

This might be a bad way to make you feel better, but you shouldnt have expected a KB1 this early anyway. With ur stats, if u get a KB1, it def would be later in the cycle...so don't be disappointed now because..honestly, if you did get a KB1, a lot of people would be pissed since ur numbers arent deserving of one this early imho.thelawschoolproject wrote:Hawkeye Pierce wrote:Nope, it's a necessary condition for acceptance.thelawschoolproject wrote:So....does anyone ever get in without a KB1?

Anyway, a few people who got KB1s (possibly even one or two who got KB2s) probably applied ED and will no longer be eligible. There is hope for us yet.

Does the Application Complete email from Harvard mean anything?
I've been under review since 11/28 according to their status checker, but just got a "As of today, your application to Harvard Law School is complete" email today.

Harvard's system seems to be the reverse of most schools. My understanding is that "Under review" means they're putting the pieces together, and "complete" means they're reviewing it (as opposed to most schools, where "complete" means they have all the pieces but aren't reviewing it yet, while "under review" means they're in the process of making a decision).

I think it precedes all KB1s. On average it seems like a KB1 - if extended - will come a week or two after that email, but there have been people who have been given KB1s 6+ weeks afterward.
Good luck!

Thanks! It happend this morning, almost exactly at the earliest time she said she would call. It was pretty short (4.5 minutes) and pretty standard (though I was asked a follow-up question to 'what are you doing lately' and was asked about my career aspirations which seems semi-unusual). I think it went okay, but who knows. KB was pretty nice and easy to speak with. I'd love to talk to her again soon.
