Hey!harrijust86 wrote:+1zonto wrote::crickets:

I applied to BC early February (I know, really late) – and I haven’t heard anything. I’m not surprised at all since I applied late, but I was wondering if anyone knows about how long it takes to get decisions and how they come (dings vs. WL vs. acceptance)—whether it’s through mail or e-mail.
Also, does anyone know about how long it takes to get a decision and when the latest we’ll hear by is? I have a couple schools that want a deposit by April 1—so I’m getting nervous I’m not going to hear back by then.
Thanks for any info!

Cool double post in the Bx threads!

Is BC still in the process of awarding merit aid?
I sent BC a negotation e-mail a little while ago, and I would choose BC in a heartbeat w/ $$, but it's getting close to the 11th hour for me...

Agreed. They told me earlier this week that it's still an ongoing process, but it may be worth giving them a call tomorrow.tttlllsss wrote:Is BC still in the process of awarding merit aid?

I've emailed twice, and nothing. Got in in December with a 3.5/172, so definitely thought I was going to receive something by now.

Thought of you guys today when I overheard some administrator say some person X was overriding the committees' decision to accept a few people and impermissibly rejected them. Interesting....

Apparently what happened was that the committee decided as a whole to admit a few students but this one person said no. I'm not sure of anything more than that.

Random thought: would the email address you're sending from be filtered as spam?whitman wrote:BC, why are you ignoring my emails about scholarships?

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
My current status still says IR 1/25 but in the description at the top it says a decision has been rendered on my application. I think this changed today sometime this afternoon...but no email yet! Has anyone got a decision rendered date and an acceptance email the day after? Is it weird that it still says IR under current status instead of decision rendered date? Any insight much appreciated!

I *think* someone from awhile back got DR later in the afternoon and then his/her email the following day. I don't think so. I've never encountered that problem before. It's a little disconcerting to not get a response, no money, and see others getting both. I hate to be a pest and try a third time, though. There's also absolutely no way I'm going without money. What do y'all think?zonto wrote:Random thought: would the email address you're sending from be filtered as spam?whitman wrote:BC, why are you ignoring my emails about scholarships?

Maybe at this point that would be the best idea. If nothing else, you can at least check if they're received the emails.

So who went to ASD today? Overall I definitely got a good vibe from the school and will probably be putting my deposit down shortly.
And I hope it wasn't anyone on here who brought their parents with them.

I just think it's weird... You're an adult. Why would you bring your parents? Only like three people had parents with them and they kind of stuck out.
I thought it was kind of funny that all the professors and administrators that spoke kept bashing Harvard like nobodys business.
