This is a good thread- congrats to all the people that have gotten accepted.
I am way late to the game, as I didn't decide on going for Law School until January, but my file was just completed on 3/1.
What do yall think my chances are being late? 3.3/164/Out of State/ 1.5 years work experience
Any shot at scholarship money? My wife will be able to get a job in Knoxville, so I should get in-state...

I think your chances are fairly decent, even though it's really late in the cycle. I think your work experience will also help.thekingiv wrote:This is a good thread- congrats to all the people that have gotten accepted.

Are you referring to the chances of admission or scholarship?sweet02215 wrote:I think your chances are fairly decent, even though it's really late in the cycle. I think your work experience will also help.thekingiv wrote:This is a good thread- congrats to all the people that have gotten accepted.

Admission. I think scholarship is going to be tough. I spoke with admissions and they told me they will probably not be making more offers at this point until people withdraw/decide not to attend and leave behind their scholarship money. :/

Yea, I hear you, I guess I figured that. So, if we have to have our answer in by April 15th, is there technically a chance that after we accept we get scholarship money? I can't see that happening. I guess people withdraw before that, obviously.sweet02215 wrote:thekingiv wrote:Are you referring to the chances of admission or scholarship?sweet02215 wrote:I think your chances are fairly decent, even though it's really late in the cycle. Re: In at Tennessee 2010
I think you have a great chance of admission, and of course your work experience will help too. UT does scholarships in waves. The first wave went out in January/Feburary and you had to reconfirm your interest by 2/26. My guess is that there may be one more small wave of scholarships between now and early April. Admitted candidates have to respond in writing to UT by 4/1 and put a seat deposit down by 5/3, so if you're going to get scholarship money, it will probably be somewhere around one of those two days.thekingiv wrote:What do yall think my chances are being late? 3.3/164/Out of State/ 1.5 years work experience

And having a spouse with a job in Tennessee will qualify you for in-state tuition (and will thus probably knock your scholarship down a little bit).

So how long is it usually after our status goes to "Review" that we get a decision? 2 weeks?keg411 wrote:They still don't have my new LSAT. Hurry up, LSAC.

I sent my application i believe on 2/1 and they received it on 2/3 and it went complete on 2/4...I sent an addendum, but it's been on review for a while. i was surprised how fast it went under review. It just says "Review"

I don't know. I'm not "in review"... I'm "hold for test score". It seems like they are being sent because I'm complete at another school that this was done for... bleh.thekingiv wrote:So how long is it usually after our status goes to "Review" that we get a decision? 2 weeks?keg411 wrote:They still don't have my new LSAT. I've been "In Review" since 1/15 and I'm thinking about calling. Has anyone called lately? Is it worth calling?

in review since 11/04. I'm getting pretty upset. I thought that I would have at least heard something by now. I've got a scholarship at LSU, and the only place I'm waiting on right now is UTK. If I'm waitlisted, I wish they would at least tell me

Re: In at Tennessee 2010
I really don't like calling to check application status. Their website says most decisions are made by "mid-march."
I'm sitting at around the median for LSAT, and just under 25% for gpa. I'm predicting a waitlist. Really hoping it's not going to be a last minute rejection.

It's insane that you guys have been in review for so long. I went complete around Feb. 9th and had a decision around the 19th. You should definitely call and ask what the hold up is!

Ditto, I have been in review since early December. Has anyone tried calling? does this expedite the process?

Mine has only been almost a month now since it went complete, but it went complete a day after they said they received, it...or excuse me, the word "review" popped up. So how did it take you so short to get a reply? You must have good stats.

Re: In at Tennessee 2010
I've been in review since the first week of Dec. and the status checker hasn't changed one bit since that date.
I called a few weeks ago and was pretty much told: There are many people that have been waiting for months. You haven't been lost or forgotten, a decision is coming. If your status checker requirement list goes blank then you can expect a decision has been made or will be made shortly.

Hmm that's informative. Anyone have any experience on the timespan between admissions requirement disappearing and getting a decision?
Also, i could backtrack, but, how are decisions delivered, mail, email, status checker, call?

Re: In at Tennessee 2010
I didn't even know I was in until I called them to get a status update because they ever sent me a status checker link to a functional email address. Also, they didn't have my telephone number, which is odd, so they couldn't contact me. You'll never know what the hold up is until you call

Called today. They basically said that if you are "In Review" then they've got everything they need. She double checked and I'm just in the stack so.....
