3.2/170. 3.7 over the last two years though. Anyone know how much that will help? And if you don't think it will, please keep it to your self you idiot.

It depends. Did your grades go up because you started working harder, or because you transfered to a TTT and switched over to a communications major? The better your story, the more the upward trend can help.

Got my ED app in to Penn just in the nick of time. Georgetown, Cornell, Duke and UVA go out this week.

I actually started taking an antidepressant, and my grades immediately improved. I included this in an addendum with all my applications. Just hoping schools wont view it as an insufficient explanation...I am especially interested in Northwestern (used my ED there).

Guyincognito-I have a hard time imagining an adcom member that would view that as 'insufficient'. It's still not as good as if you had maintained your higher GPA all 4 years, but as far as reasons/excuses go, it's certainly on the more sympathetic end. Good luck!

Thanks. I find it a little unlikely as well, but it always helps to hear it from somebody else. I guess only time will tell....Good luck to you too!

I'm like the antithesis of a splitter. 3.85/170 is about the most "meh" score you can find. Each stat is not really bad, but its not good either. Haha.

A 3.85 is more or less killer, and a 170 is only below par at the top 6 or so. Only by browsing TLS relentlessly might one get the impression that neither of these stats is "good."Ragged wrote:I'm like the antithesis of a splitter. 3.85/170 is about the most "meh" score you can find. I thought this was a safe haven where I wouldn't see numbers like ragged's, but now I'm scarred.

Wow. Two sub 2.5s with scores in the mid-170s on the same page. I thought my numbers were an unusual combo, but you guys are like the rare albino koalas of the applicant pool.
